I've been thinking. We should really hash this stuff out because I need you to know exactly why I'm still pissed, and I think you deserve to have someone be completely honest with you. I realize you don't care what I think so take this with whatever grain of salt you will.

I can forgive you for messing with everyone's heads into believing that Scott was still alive. Grief does really stupid things to people, and I understand that. I can even understand going to war with the Inhumans, if you truly believed they were doing it on purpose and just didn't care that their mist was killing us.

What I can't understand is that you kept pushing for war, even when you found out that they had no idea and were working with us to find a cure. That you spent that year creating Inhuman-killing Sentinels after knowing exactly what it's like to be hunted by them.

You and I have very different ideas about what's right and what's wrong. We always have. You've been willing to push things a lot more than I ever will be. There are some lines that I won't cross. I need to know that you're not going to do something like that here with these people. The Displaced, Avengers and all, are all we have here. I won't have that jeopardized.

If you can promise me that you won't do anything like that here, then I'm willing to be civil.

You've never once acknowledged that what you did was wrong, and you know it was. You've never even tried to make any kind of amends or shown any remorse for your actions. Scott's here, so that's all you care about.

Not what you did to the mutant cause. You know they're pushing us into Senate hearings because of it? All mutants are suffering because of that war. Kids are being bullied even more than they were before. There are protests against us everywhere. We're more hated now than ever before. There's a terrorist group out there faking mutant attacks to push legislation back into rounding us all up. That's on your head. Your agenda didn't help any mutant. You set us back.

I will be punished for my crimes in time. I didn't expect to survive the sentinel, I don't know how much longer I'll keep going in that world. When I'm gone, you can throw a party on my lonely grave and ensure I'm forever remembered as a villain. God help you when it's your turn to be in charge and you have no one to lean on or run to.

They used me as an excuse. They always want to round us up. If not me, someone else would have done something large and misguided. Or some child would have lost control of their powers. They've never cared and they've always been laying in wait to get us on something. It is a deep shame that it was my actions that led to it, but it would have happened eventually.

Why do you think I'm so pissed, Emma? I am in charge back home. I've been to Senate hearings and tried tracking down the terrorist group claiming to be X-Men. They've been using our name and attacking people. I've been working my ass off as a diplomat and leader of the X-Men and Headmaster of the school. Anti-mutant groups have attacked our children on school grounds.

I don't think you did this out of spite. I think you did it out of grief, all of it. I don't think you did it to throw mutant rights back decades. I believe you thought you were doing the right thing. But I DO think someone else was doing things behind the scenes and it all converged together and made things worse.

I'll never throw a party on anyone's grave. Not even yours.

Give it time, darling. Just wait until you're making compromises with your morals that you never thought you'd have to make. You want to hold me accountable for the actions of every bad mutant? Steve Rogers was an actual Nazi who took over the government and I doubt they're going to try and put any Avengers in camps. This is just our lot in that life in that world. They don't care about us.

I'm not proud of my methods but I don't regret going after the Inhumans. I'd kill anyone who comes after our people. It wasn't just about Scott. It was about their negligence, their lack of caring. It isn't like that was the first time the Terrigen Mists hurt our kind. They just didn't give a damn. It was more important for them to rush to make more Inhumans than to ensure that innocent mutants were safe. We'd have never done something like that to them. If Black Bolt or Medusa ever come here, they will not be safe from me.

Spare me. Where were any of you after he died?

	I think we can do a little more to show everyone that we care. Everyone who comes here gets a clean slate legally. Don't do anything that's going to get you locked up in jail. Or worse.
