I got my hope up for a moment that I was actually back at Brakebills and then I remembered them saying the Cottage was here. Which is just great. The Universe could have done me a solid and brought something useful, like Brakebills, and instead I get Animal House.

And when the hell did we acquire a cat in here?

I need to find another place of residence. Alina? Teddy? Do you have a suggestion?

It's my fault she's like this. She was a Niffin. She burned herself up to save us and then I brought her back. I made her human again. It should have been me that died, that sacrificed myself for everyone else. But I told her to do it.

Well, I gave her the...means to have more power because she's always been better at magic. I changed the way things were supposed to go. And when the added power ran out she did the only thing she could. Now she has to learn it all over again.

I just wanted her back. Alive. Even...even as this. Julia sacrificed her own shade to bring Alice's back and give her this chance. Only none of it was for Alice, it was for me. Because I couldn't handle the thought of her being dead. Because I wanted her back. No one's cared about Alice or what she's wanted all her life and I'm just another person on that list of people who's made a decision for her. I'm not sorry she's back and I don't know how to be sorry that I did this, but...it's her right to be angry with me. Eliot and Margo...they may not be innocent, but she...it's me she's angry with. They're just collateral damage.

You wanted her back and you saw a way to do that so you took it. It's understandable. And she is here now, and the anger isn't going to do her, or anyone else any good. She's not even turning it into action of any variety.

Eliot told me about the other. I know the three of you did stuff and that it's what Alice is angry about.

Right now she just wants people to hurt because she's hurting. Who hasn't done that? I wish I could make it better, but I can't. Maybe not being around us would be good for her. I'm still not letting her take the books, but...maybe it would be good for her. As long as they look out for her and don't let her set herself on fire.

	It was incredibly awkward when I was living with my parents. Things were better when I came here. I should have done it to begin with. I saw how things were, yes. 	We don't really get along at home. Here they were both younger but it was still weird. I'm not taking any offense, largely cause that's the way I'd prefer it. I like Eliot to myself.
