We've got a problem.

Some recon into Sweetums has discovered that they've come down with a sickness. The symptoms? Purple pustules, green dots, and vomiting. Those of us who were in space, whether we caught it or not, are carriers and we've infected these people.

We've got to come up with a solution from our limited means here.

Too late. Obviously the people who've had it before shouldn't go into cities and spread it more, but that won't be enough on its own.

But we did only have the one outbreak on the ship. People turned up later and didn't get sick, and this didn't happen when we first got back to Tumbleweed in the future/present. Obviously I'm no doctor but that does seem like once we get through this people might start developing the antibodies without having all the symptoms as well.

I don't think anyone could have thought that we might be carriers like this either.

Viruses never go away; they simply go dormant. So it should have been something we'd thought about, but I didn't know about the virus before we got here. Or else I would have said something.

Well yes, however there's no way of knowing how we're being transported from one place to another. When were were on the Prettiest Star, we assumed we were going to perish in a black hole and then didn't. The movement of us from there to Tumbleweed could very well have also wiped the virus. Not to mention how long we were there before being pushed back in time to here where there were no issues.
