To anyone driving by, the plain looked normal enough. A flat stretch of Virginia, tucked out of the way of the highways and the major cities. Just a plot of land.

But underneath was a lab rushing with activity.

It was times like this when Mimic wished he could duplicate himself still. )

Gambit had quite a few secrets up his sleeve.

He didn't actually want this assignment, for one, because being at the Academy sent a weird shiver up his spine. But at the same time, he was the most qualified person to investigate theft, and he honestly did want to help the school. He had his reasons. Valerie Cooper only knew that he knew what he was doing. Why she felt the need to put him in charge of this investigation was something else altogether. Remy might have been a people person, but not in a way that encouraged trust.

To investigate and protect the school from what Remy considered the inevitable next break-in, he needed to know every inch of the place. He had taken the map Sean had provided, studied it, but was now testing his knowledge.

Lazy steps carried him through the hallways, red eyes watching every student and resident that passed by. They were either suspects or victims. Gambit hadn't figured out which was which yet.

i know the kind of things (open)

Remy LeBeau was not your typical government agent. He was a thief, his family were thieves, and his formerly to-be family-in-law were assassins. The Guilds had their own laws. Laws which had no relation to the government of the United States of America.

But when an assignment about a school being broken into fell into his lap, he knew just the way to get a handle on the case.

Breaking and entering was sort of a talent of his.

The night was chill and overcast. His disadvantages were obvious: he was unfamiliar with the layout of the school, and the people at the Academy would be more on guard about intruders. His advantage was that he was Gambit. He didn't need more advantage than that.

It was as simple as climbing a tree and then charging the lock on a window. Once he was in, he stuck to quiet hallways or air vents if at all possible. He was trying to make it to the office that held the student records, but this place was damn big.

Getting into the mind of the culprit was easier than it should have been.

((ooc: open to anyone who wants to catch him snooping around the school!))
