CHARACTERS: Amelia Keller-Bones & Charlotte Keener
SETTING: Morning, 9 February @ Stonevale
RATING: General Public
STATUS: Ongoing
SUMMARY: Amelia came out to the woods to learn and seek wisdom from Charlotte, so it's time for some learning.
The woods were easy. Even when the werewolves and other creatures running about, the subtle peace of Stonevale came as a breath of fresh air compared to the blaring noise of the city. Maybe she was running, but she needed time for herself, to just collect all the pieces and find some of that often spoken about inner strength. The city was chipping away at that facade that kept how broken she was veiled from the world. Amelia knew she wasn't strong, but she was determined not to be weak. Whatever was coming, pressing on the edges of her mind told her that she was lacking if she hoped to endure what the future would bring.
She had been out in the woods for a few days and she finally felt like she could feel her roots again. Of course that also meant that the Watch was moving blind currently because she wasn't seeing anything. Her mind no longer seemed to wander out into the soup, she was firmly rooted in the present, which currently consisted of nothing more than a thick woolen blanket and an old worn book. The mornings were always the best. Most the house still asleep, she could pretend she was alone without the fear of actually being on her own. Even when they roused for breakfast she was content to keep reading, lost in the pages and words of Toni Morrison.
Once she started to hear the clanking of plates, she placed a bookmark in her book, uncoiling herself from the chair. "Time to face the real world," she muttered to herself before pushing onto her feet. Amelia hoped that Charlotte would be up and not entirely occupied with cleaning up breakfast so that they could have another one of their lessons. While the respite from the city was welcome, that was the real reason she was out here. Amelia needed to know more, to be more certain in who she was and what she could do. It was more important than the sparring lessons with Ben because these lessons built her confidence and ability in a way that physical sparring could not. Wrapping the blanket around her shoulders she padded back into the kitchen, a tired smile rolling onto her face. "Morning."
