Who: Bertha Jorkins & Severus Snape
When: 5 August, Day of Ambrosius
Where: Diagon Alley, mostly.
What: Well, there’s an owl mask involved.
Rating: Low.
Status: COMPLETE

( He was dark and not unhandsome, although he could use some of Gilderoy’s touch with clothes and ... well everything. )

SUMMARY

The Order picks up that something is amiss on Diagon Alley, and when Death Eaters do show up (as they had dropped the clues in the tip line to intentionally draw the Order out) it launches the Alley into a battleground. Death Eaters turn on the Order to keep them busy, while continuing to make a stir with structural damages to shops not bearing signs against Muggle-born employment and patronage. Before long, the Dark Lord arrives, and a Patronus message is sent from the Order to Dumbledore, begging him to come. Only later does it become apparent about how the Death Eaters were not attacking anyone but the Order, and later on any D. M. L. E. who arrived.

TIMELINE

• 1:00 PM - Death Eaters Apparate in; people immediately start getting loud on the lane at the new presences
• 1:05 PM - Order member Rubeus Hagrid notices the Death Eaters (once he break through the crowd and can see), and alerts the rest of the Order via journal
• 1:07 PM - Shopkeepers alert the DMLE (or MLE patrols alert the DMLE) after people rush into their shops for shelter
• 1:09 PM - On-duty MLE/Hitwizards/Aurors arrive
• 1:10 PM - Order members arrive as per Hagrid's journal alert
• 1:11 PM - Death Eaters fight with DMLE and Order members
• 1:20 PM - Voldemort arrives
• 1:25 PM - Dumbledore is contacted by his brother, Aberforth, when Voldemort is spotted; the DMLE calls for back-up
• 1:27 PM - The outside of Flourish and Blotts is blown apart, causing a pile of rubble to block Knockturn Alley
• 1:30 PM - Dumbledore/Voldemort duel on Knockturn
• 1:34 PM - DEs are ordered to clear out
• 1:36 PM- All Order members clear out, as they do not want to be the stragglers getting arrested

NOTES

• This thread will be available through the weekend, although the effective date of the event is August 1st. If you would rather do a log than a thread, you may do that and post the log in the main community, then put a link to the log on appropriate time frame in the comments below. Death Eaters, Order members, DMLE, and Civilians may all be involved. Before jumping in, check character assignments available on the August 1 Battle plot post (Additional questions may also be directed there).
• Given that this is a first (and not quite so large) battle, it'll just be a situation of doing as much as you feel comfortable with taking on. Future battles will be more structured, so don't worry! We're still getting up momentum.

When: Mid-evening, Tuesday July 27th
Where: Hipworth’s Apothecary, Hogsmeade
What: A meeting of once-upon-a-time friends.
Rating: A for Awkward.
Status: COMPLETE

( It was a bit unusual for Severus to actually step foot in Hipworth’s in Hogsmeade, despite the fact that it was only down High Street from the Hog’s Head. )
