The sky overhead was dark, though it seemed hazy thanks to the opaque shimmer of the barrier ahead. The damned barrier; it was the reason he was trapped in this infernal place with a bunch of imbeciles and dirty mudbloods. That dimwit of a Minister clearly wasn't doing anything to help; as if Shacklebolt could figure out something that was obviously beyond his intelligence and talent. Lucius Malfoy was tired of waiting, and he was determined to take matters into his own hands.

What: Lucius doesn't believe what the Minister says and he's going to make sure that it's well-known
For Lucius Malfoy, a week of being trapped in Diagon Alley was a week too long. But then again, if Minister Shacklebolt was right about getting them out as soon as possible, then it wouldn’t be much longer. Yet the elder Malfoy did not believe a single word that came out of the Minister’s mouth and he was going to make certain that those who were around him knew that as well.
( And why should we trust him when it comes to what he says – just simply because he’s the Minister? )

For nearly four full days now he and his team of helpers had been trying to blast through the bubble-like ward that surrounded Diagon Alley. And so far, they had had no success. The people were getting restless, his workers told him, as if he couldn't sense it himself. Everyone seemed tense and on edge, and he had a feeling that if he didn't say something soon, someone was liable to explode.
So he'd instructed his helpers to gather everyone they could find into the square with the help of a magically enhanced announcement that echoed through the Alley: "All Alley patrons, please report to the main square for a conference with Minister Shacklebolt. All Alley patrons, please report to the main square."
