Alastor Apparated to a point a couple of blocks away from Greenwich Park and chose to walk the rest of the way. He needed some time to prepare himself for the meeting. Thanks to Poppy Pomfrey's suggestion, it would take place in a location where the threat of spellfights wasn't a possibility, but physical violence still remained a very real threat, what with having people with such different views and agendas in the same place. Add to that the added complication that some of them could have a shared history in the main flow of time, which either party might or might not remember, and things could well become very tense as the meeting wore on - depending upon who actually showed up.
It gnawed at him, truth be told. Yes, the Nexus needed some form of social order. Without it, there would be lawlessness and anarchy. But it would need a consensus in order to be effective. One 'side' could not decide for everyone. The will of the majority would have to be the determining factor. It was like walking along the edge of a sword's blade. A slip either way could be fatal. Balance was required.
Turning into the park, he looked out across the Thames to St. Paul's Cathedral. It was a pity he wasn't religious. Prayer might have given him some guidance.
