Rules of the party:
1) No alcohol [personal belongings will not be checked for contraband, however].
2) Dates are mandatory until 8 pm.
3) After 8 pm, The Terrible Teaspoons will play until midnight, when the party is over.
4) Morning classes are suspended on Monday. Classes will resume after lunch.
5) Keep snogging to a respectable minimum, and out of the centre of the party.
6) NO FORNICATION!! [Professors, Heads, and Prefects will not be doing castle rounds tonight, however].

That evening was prepared for meticulously. No minor detail was overlooked, nor understated. Lucius Malfoy was a man of style and he radiated wealth in his chosen attire. He had ordered a specially tailored outfit for the event, albeit without the hat for this particular occasion. The puffed white sleeves of the ensemble helped to enhance his already broad shoulders, and the waist of the vest was wonderfully skin-tight, making him appear quite the pompous courtier. He would normally never be caught dead wearing such bright red; however, the red was appropriate for the event and Lucius was never one to downplay his style when he would be parading before a majority of the school.

Smiling in the mirror, he left his dorm room and headed down toward the Great Hall, passing numerous well-attired students and Professors alike, to whom he made his mandatory pleasant greetings and well wishes for a fine evening. It was a chore being Head Boy, but despite the faux politeness with which he needed to conduct himself, he found that the position was fitting.

As he'd effortlessly glided down the main staircase leading into the massive entryway, he spotted an attractive figure swathed in red with a simple, yet classy up-do. Putting on his most charming expression, he approached her and held out his arm after a quick and polite bow.

"Alecto, you look stunning, as I'd imagined. I hope you were not waiting long?" A few couples passed by them and headed into the Great Hall already. He watched them with interest and turned back to his date for the evening, grinning in a touch of enthusiasm. "Shall we head in?"

Alecto smiled brightly at him and took the offered arm, after she curtsied in reply. "You look rather handsome yourself, Lucius." she smiled again and nodded gently. "I was not waiting long. I feared I had kept you waiting." she watched people go past them with a look of judgement in her eyes. She'd judge everyone without a second thought to keep herself from saying something ridiculous.

Once she took his arm she nodded. "Let us, then." She pondered her friendship with Lucius - and smiled. It was rare she enjoyed the company of people other than her brother. There were a couple lucky ones in her House and it made her feel better that she would be enjoying the night with someone she could hold conversations with. Instead of someone she merely tolerated. Alecto leaned close for a moment, with a wry smile on her lips. "I should have worn my corset, it would have gone much better with your outfit." before righting herself and continuing inside. She was known to be a terrible flirt when the mood struck.

Noting her judging gaze, he covertly smiled in approval, having done the very same, himself. As she took his arm, he lead them both into the Great Hall, looking around before he heard what she'd leaned in to say. With a mischievous smirk, he turned to her and leaned in just as close, whispering in her ear:

"Why Miss Carrow, you do know how to tempt a man. Although you look lovely as is." Lucius then pulled away with a knowing smile as he whirled her around toward the dance floor with ease. "Shall we dance?"

Alecto merely smiled in return. "I do, it is part of my charm, my dear." she said with a smile as she was swept out onto the dance floor with him. She knew how to dance, mostly because pureblood functions required a girl to dance or be scorned in the eyes of society. She was light on her feet, and danced with ease - Alecto would not shame him by stepping on his toes or miss-stepping. She would make sure they both looked good. She really enjoyed the dancing, and the company. Lucius made a wonderful dance partner, after all.
