Welcome to Burlington
Who: Letha and Marie
When: Week 8: Late Wednesday night, August 20th
Where: Marie’s home
Summary: Letha wants to meet the new vampire in town and she really wanted to get out of the house for a bit
Warnings/Rating: None
Status: Closed; Ongoing
As always, Letha awoke an hour or so before sunrise. She wrote in her journal. There wasn’t much to write about, just that there were attacks throughout the city now; seemingly random, she didn’t believe they were so.
She was quite sure someone was up to something. It wasn’t the wolves, she was sure of that. Though they always had a mangy smell to them, and some were just god-awful and she didn’t trust them, she knew the pack here to be honorable. Attacking humans just wasn’t something they would do.
No, if anything was attacking humans sup-wise it would be a rogue vampire; she was sure it wasn’t that, either. A rogue vampire would leave marks from feeding or would just kill the human. It took control to attack and not break them.
It was human, she was nearly positive. A group of humans is what attacked that poor woman outside of Conor O’Sullivans bar, and humans were what were doing these other ‘random’ attacks.
This could be HASK related and it worried her quite a bit. For 400 years she had lived, most of it in peace and quiet and without human knowledge. Now, humans were aware of their existence thanks to a member of her family and a member of Conor’s.
Some just couldn’t be happy living in the darkness.
Eventually, the end of the game plan of the humans would become knowledgeable and the sups would twart them. She hoped, anyway.
After writing about the attacks, she wrote about the new vampire. Marie Mason. She knew a little on the woman already, having had someone do research on her. Definitely not a threat; not this girl. She planned on going to see her tonight, welcome her to Burlington and let her know there was a place for her in the SdV family if she chose to become a member. If not, well, the SdV would still be here for her for anything she may need. It was the way Letha was. Everyone needed a family, and she provided one for any who wanted one. So long as they stayed in line, of course. She didn’t need any that were going to put them all in danger.
Once the book was put away, she fed from one of the human servants that she had. It may sound crude, to have a human servant, but this human was here because they wanted to be. A blood servant if you will. He could come and go as he pleased and she paid him a good fee; he also ran errands for her during the day if need be.
Sated, she then watched the sunset as she always did.
A couple of hours later she had a basket filled with various types of blood and with her guard was on her way to Marie’s home. With the attacks going about the city, she had upped security and that meant even she didn’t go anywhere without a guard or companion. She wouldn’t force others to travel in pairs if they wished not to, but the security was there. She had even offered security for Elijah at The Lodge if he wished.
Keeping her family safe; that was her priority.
Her guard drove her to Marie’s home and stayed in the car as she went to the door. It was a nice home, very…quaint, she thought. With basket in one hand she knocked on the door with the other and awaited for the woman to answer.
