I'm still threading with some of you, and I know that players may have already departed the board and aren't reading it anymore, but I wanted to take a moment, before the game officially closes tomorrow, to thank everyone who RP'd with me - and Jack, Kitty, Abby, Robert and Obi-Wan.


Thank you for sharing all of your characters in the Chaos Cube game. :D


Oh, and Amy and Lai? Awesome Mods. You guys rock. :)

The holidays and preparation for the holidays and lots of stress at work have made tagging particularly difficult this past week. This weekend was supposed to be my catch-up time.

It was swallowed by gatherings I had to attend, shopping I hadn't done and general exhaustion.

Will try to tag some tonight, but most likely won't make it.

Ah, well. Tomorrow is another day...

THE VOTE IS IN!

I won't bother you with numbers, but I will say it was close. Nevertheless the vote is to CLOSE the game.

So. ICly, this is how it's going to happen. Tomorrow the barriers to Here are going to fall. Amy or I will post something describing when this happens and the residents will know immediately because of several things. One is that the light surrounding Here will alter slightly. It'll become a little darker, more orange in color. Secondly, once the barriers fall an official sounding voice will sound through Here saying AUTOMATED SELF DESTRUCT ACTIVATED. SELF DESTRUCT WILL OCCUR IN TEN THOUSAND MINUTES. A large count down clock will appear in the lobby with days, hours, minutes and seconds. Thirdly, the skrull ships that were parked right beyond the border will now be visible. Also visible beyond the barrier will be an ancient civilization that is now in ruins. It will become apparent to anyone who wishes to explore that something catastrophic caused an abrupt end to the civilization that once inhabited the world beyond Here. The Skrulls will start running around frantically and then a day or so later (once the self destruct proves impossible to reverse) they will leave. Everyone in stasis will revive with no clue what is going on. Less than twenty four hours after the Skrulls leave, The Manger will come back online. He will place a large notice in the lobby and also in every room saying that in light of recent events everyone will be allowed to leave Here to when and wherever they choose. He'll give them a deadline to tell him the destination, and a day before the destruct activates people will start going home.

That is, of course, ICly. OOCly, we'll stretch this out till the new year, since everyone has holiday things to be doing. Officially the game will close on January 15th, although any threads started will, of course, be allowed to continue as long as needed.

On a more personal note I just wanna say..guys, it's been an incredible run. Amy and I have both enjoyed modding this game and playing in it, and we give credit to that to our awesome players. Thanks to each one of you for everything you've done to make this game great! We're sorry to see it close, but at the same time we realize that this game has run its course.

Okay, guys. First off, if you haven't read Amy's last mod post, do that before we continue.

Everyone up to speed? Sweet.

The next point in the overall plot of the game is that the barriers are going to fall. After that, however, the game-wide plot can take two directions. One is basically what Amy alluded to in the last post: the barriers fall, people explore and we find the technology to send some home with restrictions - one or two a month. The second option is one that Amy and I have been discussing amongst ourselves, and that's that when the barriers fall everyone is instantly sent home. "Home" can be with a spouse, if that's a concern. The To Where isn't the big deal; the point is that everyone leaves Here and the game itself will dissolve.

Before you make a decision let me say this: Amy and I are thrilled with how well the game has done so far. Believe me, neither one of us believed it would last this long. We've had a lot of fun with the run, but between me having a job and a half and Amy having a part-time job and being a superhero on the side, we don't have the time to put into it that we once did. No hard feelings are in this. Secondly, if the majority decision is to keep the game going we will want some sort of commitment from you guys, so the rule that says everyone must make an OTA post every two months will be changed to once a month with every pup.

This is a hard decision not to be made lightly and we understand that. The final decision shall be made in a very democratic fashion: if more people are for the game staying open than the people who want to close it or don't respond than we'll stay open. In the interest of fairness, Amy and I will not vote since really we just want everyone to have fun. If everyone wants to have fun elsewhere that is totally good with us, we just don't want to put a lot of time into a game that people have lost interest in.

Once again we want honest opinions here. Please don't pressure anyone to vote one way or another, since everyone is more than welcome to have their voice heard.

So in the comments please respond with "stay" or "leave" and the name you go by. One vote per person. Final tally will be counted on December 14th, which will give everyone two weeks to make a decision.

I've been trying to do a sweep of the Cube at least once a week, and though I hoped to do one today, it hasn't worked out. I'm still sick - but been going to work, anyway - and very tired and preparing for a little holiday this weekend with my husband. A getaway, as it were. We may or may not be on-line. Haven't decided yet. As we're going to a resort, we might leave the laptops behind.

So...

Will try to tag a bit tonight, depending, and again tomorrow morning. If I don't get to you, it's 'cause I passed out, lol!

I did a sweep of all five of my charries last night, so as far as I know, I'm up-to-date.

Work has been a zoo this week - very stressful, sadly - and I've been fighting something viral. Now it's a full-blown whatever, and the doctor says I just have to ride through it.

Figures. And I have a packed weekend, so will only be around sporadically.

*heavy sigh*

Also: I'm not sure that I'm getting alerts, so if anyone who is threading with me hasn't got a response, that might be why. Please tag me on this post so I know. I'm getting a little lost, folks.

Lai and I have been discussing some changes for around Here that will hopefully return the Manager and bring an end to the Skrull plot. This will be gradual at first...the management may start strongly urging residents to take jobs around Here. The winter season is fast approaching, and those of you who were here last year know that the change of season comes very quickly.

Now, for the fun part!

The Manager had some fail safes in place, in case anything ever happened and control was taken from him against his will, or circumstances changed beyond his control.

The barriers between Here and the outside are going to fall.

Thoughts, ideas and suggestions will all be heard out, though no promises will be made to anyone regarding them at this time. We welcome all ideas, but it's best if you put them in writing, so they won't be forgotten in the shuffling around. If you aren't comfortable presenting your ideas in the comments here, you can email the mods.

This won't all be taking place all at once, and probably won't come to any sort of conclusion until after the New Year, just so we can be sure to get it right and dot all of our "I"s and cross our "T"s. The FAQ will need to be redone, and so we ask for patience, ideas and input as we work to implement all of this.

Just so you know, Real Life swallowed me for most of the day today, and tomorrow has a big chunk taken out of it, too.

Managed two OTA posts tonight, so I'm getting there. Will do the other three charries tomorrow night, reply to on-going tags and try to tag all these lovely, new OTA threads then, too.

I know that the mods have not been around a lot lately, but we are here...Lai should be getting internets again soon, and I should be around in the evenings (I am working full time for the next couple of weeks).

This is a friendly nudge to all of you who have not posted your pups in in a while...we DO have a requirement that you post your pups in with an "open to all" EP at least once every other month, and a lot of you have not been following this rule. Instead of bringing down the mod hammer immediately (that thing is too heavy to be swinging around on a regular basis), we would like to ask you all to take the initiative and put in your pups if you are in violation of this rule. I'm not asking for explanations or excuses or apologies or anything like that--I'm not pointing a finger at anyone in particular.

Also...we have a LOT of untagged threads at the moment, and with as many players as we have, there really isn't any reason this should happen. With Lai basically out of the game for the next little while, and myself working full time, we can not possibly tag them all between us. I understand that many of you are students, and many of you are working insane hours, but PLEASE...we're not asking for a huge commitment, just what you agreed to when you signed up to play in the game. (Don't make me beg!)

Also, we have some ideas for a couple of major changes to the game, and we hope to run it past everyone and ask for opinions very soon, for implementation around the new year.

Sorry for any delays in replying, folks. I've been trying to keep up, but the last week has been a bit hectic and not left me with a lot of time or energy, sadly. Damn hands and back giving me heck...

And that's one reason why I need to pass out now, too, rather than try to tag. Been so tired at work in the mornings, and that has to stop.

I hope to do a sweep of all current tags tomorrow - and maybe even some OTAs.
