We'll take a cup of kindness yet
Who: Kevin, Mandy and possibly Anthony
What: New Year's Eve: Dinner, drinking and possibly fireworks
Where: Mandy's flat
When: New Year's Eve
Kevin was more pleased than he was willing to admit that he had somewhere to go on New Year's Eve. He didn't believe the things his mother said about New Year's Eve predicting how you'd spend the rest of your year, but he was still grateful that his social life wasn't so dead yet that he had to spend a fairly major holiday alone. He'd gone out earlier in the morning to buy Champagne and had gone a little over his planned budget to buy some apple flavoured vodka he'd seen as well. He didn't really like the taste of champagne and if they were going to have more than one celebratory midnight glass, he'd rather have something else to drink.
Two presents, surprisingly well wrapped, were waiting on a table by the door. After checking his reflection in the mirror one final time, he picked them up, stooped to lift the shopping bag with the alcohol and apparated out of his flat. He arrived outside Mandy's flat and put down the bottles to knock on the door. While his hand was free, he rubbed it on the front of his jeans. He was dressed in jeans and a button down shirt - a little more formal than he normally dressed but it felt odd to arrive carrying Champagne in jeans and a t-shirt. Besides, it was a special occasion.
