I am so happy to be back behind my bar, with my Alistair and my friends. Tavern regulars, you're all getting hugs when you come in. Deal with it.

[Filtered to Thedas]
And speaking of friends, we need a Wicked Grace night, promptly. Non-Thedosian friends and lovers welcome, of course, but I want to celebrate being back together, and congratulate all of you who beat back the goblins on a job well done.

Surely they must know that neither of them is capable of the magic that caused this mess.

Yes, well, I'm not sure how much that mattered when they discovered they were married to someone they hated.

And blind rage at whomever happens to be nearby is always so very useful. Ugh. I'm sorry you have to deal with this, Kili.

I don't know what to do. We had only just spoken of how elves mate for life, and now this. And I know it was not her fault, but

It's stupid, never mind.

How you feel isn't stupid, and it's all right to talk about it.

What may make you feel better, though, is that she wasn't an elf there. Neither was I. We were all human, with no recollection that we had ever been anything else.

That means she forgot me. That means I was nothing to either of them because I didn't exist. I don't know if that's any better.

When it comes to magic like this, it isn't a matter of forgetting, at least not as we know forgetting. We all had our minds wiped clean against our will, and new thoughts and feelings that we didn't want shoved into the empty space. The one thing that all of us there had in common was that all the things that matter most to us were taken away. Our selves and our lives were stolen from us, including the people we love. You didn't exist there because we were cursed. Tauriel would never forget you, just as I would never forget Alistair. For the weeks we were gone, we were made into other people who never knew you, and if she is anything like me, she was horrified when she came back and realized what happened. None of this means that you don't matter to her, or to Thorin.

None of that means this is going to get any better, either.

No, it doesn't. But it doesn't mean it won't either.

I'm not sure how they're ever going to tolerate each other after this.

Remember we have all only been back a day. Give them time to think and deal with what they've been through. People usually handle things better, given time.

Most people are not I hope we can use this experience to make sure we are not driven further apart. But All I ever wanted was to have my family together. None of this is fair.

How is the baby?

It's not fair at all, that much is true. But we are all alive, and therefore it could certainly be worse. As long as we breathe, we have hope.

The healers say there aren't any signs that she was hurt by a bit of extra world-hopping. It looks like we'll be just fine.
