Who: neville longbottom & remus lupin
When: tuesday evening, may 5
Where: remus's apartment
What: a conversation is necessary
Rating: good question. they're going to talk about the calendar prompts, including wolves howling and a massacred village. it'll probably be high-ish?
The day had not been a good one for rumors; Neville had heard several at breakfast alone. The night guards had been talking amongst themselves, about hearing some wolves howling last night. Or a wolf, Neville wasn't sure. They'd not heard anything like it before, and that alone concerned Neville. They'd just come from a full moon night, and he'd spent the entire night with Ruby and everyone else who had been determined that no harm would come to her. It confounded him, how people could look the other way when a potentially deadly creature was sleeping in their midst. He wasn't willing to put anyone in danger, and so he spoke out. In the end, he'd found that Ruby had complete control over herself when in her wolf form. He was satisfied with that, and content to leave her alone. Remus Lupin was another story. The man knew he was dangerous and was willing to make sure that all measures were taken. It was unfortunate that precautions hadn't been taken the previous month, but Neville had been confident that nothing had happened. That is, he was confident until dinner, when talk had revolved around the village that had been massacred. The rescue and recovery people said that a large animal had done it, like a wolf. Remus was safely tucked away, so that could only mean that something had happened in April. Neville was terrified, but calm, and worried for Remus. But he had to know, and rather than trusting Remus's friends to do it, he took it upon himself to do so. He entered the apartment where Remus lived after having knocked and been bidden to enter. It wasn't hard to find Remus, lying in bed and looking exhausted. Neville held out the thermos of soup and the rationed pack of crackers that he'd saved from his own meal. "Thought you might want something to eat. Mind if I sit down?" |
