Hearing news of a scuffle outside almost made me rethink the idea of putting up my sword, and then I remembered I hadn't fully introduced myself on this device, though I've met a great deal of you already in person.

I am Aramis, of formerly of the King's Musketeers, presently of Lady Hendrix's childcare. As it was still the 17th century before I arrived here, adjusting to this world has been interesting, to say the least. You have my thanks for the hospitality shown. Porthos and I hope to be productive members of your society, and I happy welcome any advice or conversation that you may have to offer.

Now we just need Athos and d'Ar

You're on here so someone has at least shown you how to work the network. Best way to get better at using the tablet is pretty much to just keep using it often.

Intake was quite through in that regard, very thankfully. I do keep thinking in going to break something, however.

Just don't deliberately throw it at a wall or anything and you should be okay. Ish. Dropping them was enough to cause a lot of issues when I'm from but this one seems to be a little better with accidental droppings.

Do you have a lot of experience with kids? Or did you totally answer that you'll happily work wherever they might need you?

I promise I won't be throwing it around, but Porthos may get frustrated at it at some point. We'll try to keep from destroying it.

I've a few younger siblings that I was responsible for growing up, and I've helped save a baby from kidnapping and death, my own I've spent time in orphanages and with children on the streets of Paris. I likely don't have as much experience as some, but I'm good with children. They offered it as a job when I suggested as such.

Good to meet you, madame Jean. As I told madame Forbes, I have more than some, likely less than others. Children like me and I like them, but I've never been a primary caretaker.

Unless d'Artagnan counts. Which he should.

He can count. I wasn't checking your qualifications, just so we're clear. I helped run a live-in school when I was barely out of my teens, so I wouldn't have much of a leg to stand on.

I was told there's many books, but you're not likely missing much. My sword has been a great portion of my life, no doubt about that, I doubt I'll ever truly be done with it, but here? There are many fighters, and not enough civilian services.

Already talked to Porthos. I'm the Last Centurion, or Rory Williams as most people call me. I was in France for a few centuries in the first millenium AD, then I went back later during the 16th century, but I was gone again by your time. More or less missed most of the 30 Years War.

Good to meet you, Monsieur Rory. I can't pretend to even understand how that is possible, but neither is the magic of this place. Is the 30 Years War what they eventually called the battles of Europe? I was involved heavily in the Huguenot rebellions.

I've been alive a really, really long time. It's pretty complicated even if you do kind of get the science of it.

Yeah, they basically lasted exactly 30 years from start to finish, but there was only another ten or so left after France really got involved. (France wins, by the way. Allied with Protestants against Spain and the Vatican and came out of it one of the most powerful states in Europe.)
