The door was unlocked like Sam had promised, and partially open as well, and he was sitting on his bed with the 'baby' lying in his lap, cooing quietly while he read his physics text aloud to her in a quiet singsong.

"Yeah, I kinda got that feelin'," Sam admitted. He tucked Claire absently into the crook of one arm as she started to fuss a bit and rocked her gently without so much as missing a beat. "For what it's worth, I don't think you're anywhere near th'only one who'd rather be doin' just about anything else than takin' care of a fake baby. 'Specially one you can just about pass off as the real thing."

	"If it really bugs you so much, I don't mind takin' her most of the time," Sam offered. And, yeah, he'd pretty much started thinking of it as a her. "You just gotta cover the minimum hours an' then I'll do the rest." He wasn't exactly devoted or anything, but he could also do most of what was required half asleep without batting an eyelash. "Yeah, okay." He agreed. "We can just...do homework together for a couple hours in the afternoon or evening to cover that two hours together a day bit?" he offered. "An' you can take her for whatever other two hours works for you?" He shrugged. "Doesn't really bother me t'cart her 'round otherwise. She's close enough to the real thing, an' I'm pretty much used to it."

"Yeah. Definitely." He wasn't trying to talk her into kids, he just doubted she'd do anywhere near as bad as she seemed to think if she did decide she wanted them someday. He handed Claire over, supporting her head carefully as he settled her in Emma's arms, watching in something like awe as he tiny fists flailed almost exactly like a real baby and her face puckered up.

"Yeah, pretty much the fanciest baby doll ever," Sam agreed, watching as the baby took the bottle and her tiny hands slowed then came to rest on it. "If she didn't keep track of who had her all the time I could prob'ly leave her with my little sisters an' they'd think they'd won a prize, gettin' t'take care of her pretty much every wakin' moment. Think they'd prob'ly be plenty happy with givin' her back at bed time, though."
