Noah

Earlier this afternoon.

Since it wasn't school hours, Adrian had ditched his uniform and was wearing jeans, a tshirt, and a navy zipped hoodie. He was waiting in the hall outside the Club Offices in the Darkholme Center for his new mentor. He'd signed up, thinking that he'd never get a bite, that anyone who'd heard of either him or more likely, Jared, wouldn't want to mentor him. So he was surprised as anyone when he'd gotten an email saying he'd been paired up.

His mentor was a high schooler a grade above Jared named Noah Varr, which was a cool name if Adrian ever heard one. Unfortunately there wasn't much else available. He didn't post much in the journals and no one really knew what to say about him when asked. Adrian decided to take a positive spin on it; if no one had anything good to say, they didn't have anything bad to say about Mr. Varr either. So, a plus.

Feeling more than a little anxious, hands stuffed into his pockets as he leaned against the wall, Adrian hoped he wouldn't ruin this. He hoped he wouldn't be too geeky or nerdy or small or girly or anything else, and that Noah Varr wouldn't go right back to the mentoring people and ask for a better mentoree. To make things easier, the mentoring program person he'd met gave him a nametag, so that Noah wouldn't have to ask any middle-school-looking kid if he was Adrian Corbo. It said his name in clear black print and was stuck to the left side of Adrian's hoodie. Feeling self-conscious, Adrian scrunched his shoulders and looked at the floor, trying to keep out of peoples' way.
