Santo (backdated to Saturday early AM in their room)
Kevin was lying there in the first faint light of a wintery dawn, eyes still shut and grinning like an idiot as he tried to process the fact that he wasn't just back in the same time zone with Josh, he was in the same damn building. And, oh yeah, they'd spent the entire afternoon and evening and part of the night together yesterday and they'd probably be able to spend pretty much the whole damned day together today.

As soon as he managed to not be an asshole to his roommate. Who he'd definitely been a total asshole to yesterday. Which was kind of not okay, and he definitely felt bad for, given he'd pretty much run in, dropped his stuff on what he'd assumed was his bed, said 'hi' and 'bye' almost in one breath and bolted back out the door to find Josh. He'd talked with the guy a little bit - and rock dude, how seriously cool was that? - when he'd come back in, significantly after curfew and lucky not to have been caught, but he'd been giddy and wiped and had crashed pretty quick. So now it was probably well past time to try to convince the guy he wasn't a complete douche.

Really.

As soon as he stopped lying there grinning like a loon. Yep. He totally had this whole not being an asshole thing covered. He kicked off his sheets and rolled out of bed, tugging his gloves and sleeves back into place out of habit as he did so.

"So. Hey." He smiled a bit sheepishly and waved at the guy. "I promise I'm not usually a total douche?"

	"Yeah, he's across the hall and down at the end. Josh Foley?" he added, aware that he was still grinning like an idiot but not really able to stop. Because he'd honest to god just told someone Josh lived down the hall. "He's a healer." 	"Yeah, he is." And time to move on, because obsessing was an annoying pain in the ass...as he'd been told many times by many people the last few years. "Yeah, it really would. If I'd still been in SF at the end of the year they were going to drive out to get me after graduation and then take the scenic route home. Guess that's not on the agenda now, though." He shrugged and put the petrified wood back.

"Oh man, you could make them stands or something, with the names on them?" He sort of hand an idea for one for the quarts Santo had just been handling.

	"Oh, speaking of pets." Kevin turned away from the shelf of rocks. "You don't have a problem with snakes, do you?" Midas was supposed to show up on Monday, and it would kind of suck if Santo was creeped out by snakes...which Kevin wouldn't rule out as a possibility, even if the dude was made of rock. "Nah, I'm cool with snakes. Way I figure it, they can't hurt me and I probably make a good heat source once I'm warmed up, right?" And no way was he admitting that he'd had a thing about snakes when he was a kid. It was all well in the past. Yup.

"It's staying in a tank, right? Cause, you know, if it slithered into my bed I might have words, but in a tank, I'm cool."

But like, if I bump into someone, I know it even if they move away. And my mom always gives me the biggest hug when I go home and I definitely feel that. So, that's cool."
