Santo (backdated to Saturday early AM in their room)
Kevin was lying there in the first faint light of a wintery dawn, eyes still shut and grinning like an idiot as he tried to process the fact that he wasn't just back in the same time zone with Josh, he was in the same damn building. And, oh yeah, they'd spent the entire afternoon and evening and part of the night together yesterday and they'd probably be able to spend pretty much the whole damned day together today.

As soon as he managed to not be an asshole to his roommate. Who he'd definitely been a total asshole to yesterday. Which was kind of not okay, and he definitely felt bad for, given he'd pretty much run in, dropped his stuff on what he'd assumed was his bed, said 'hi' and 'bye' almost in one breath and bolted back out the door to find Josh. He'd talked with the guy a little bit - and rock dude, how seriously cool was that? - when he'd come back in, significantly after curfew and lucky not to have been caught, but he'd been giddy and wiped and had crashed pretty quick. So now it was probably well past time to try to convince the guy he wasn't a complete douche.

Really.

As soon as he stopped lying there grinning like a loon. Yep. He totally had this whole not being an asshole thing covered. He kicked off his sheets and rolled out of bed, tugging his gloves and sleeves back into place out of habit as he did so.

"So. Hey." He smiled a bit sheepishly and waved at the guy. "I promise I'm not usually a total douche?"

"Nah, I'm cool with snakes. Way I figure it, they can't hurt me and I probably make a good heat source once I'm warmed up, right?" And no way was he admitting that he'd had a thing about snakes when he was a kid. It was all well in the past. Yup.

"It's staying in a tank, right? Cause, you know, if it slithered into my bed I might have words, but in a tank, I'm cool."

	"Sort of," Santo said, running his hand over the edge of his bookshelf. "I feel like, pressure. Some things I get, some things I don't. But like, if I bump into someone, I know it even if they move away. And my mom always gives me the biggest hug when I go home and I definitely feel that. So, that's cool." "It's cool you're close enough to go for weekends, at least," Kevin offered. At least he assumed he was close. Santo so far wasn't coming off as one of the almost terrifyingly rich kids you found in the system who thought flying to meet their parents for a weekend in the South of France was no big deal. "I got stuck in SF all summer last year for extra training. It kind of sucked."

	"Seriously?" Kevin flashed him a quick, bright grin. "I wouldn't want to impose, though," he added quick on its heels, though. He'd gotten a couple of invites to visit friends over the years, but they'd always been revoked when parents found out about his powers. "I could, um, bring sheets? If it happens?" No reason Santo's folks should spend money on something like that, when he knew pretty much no one liked synthetic sheets. He'd tried to talk Josh out of them years ago when he'd gone pretty much all synthetic in solidarity, since he didn't really see any reason they both had to suffer. "Which would be cool, but totally no big deal if it doesn't."
