Mark
Santo's roommate had gone to meet someone and Santo was taking advantage of having the room to himself by opening the door and turning his music up. After all, he figured if one had a playlist full of bouncy upbeat music, one had to share it with the world. Or the dorm, which was the world at the moment.

The only trouble with bouncy upbeat music was that Santo usually wanted to dance to it, and while people forgave the music, his dancing was pretty much unforgivable unless he was outside. Still, when Whip It came on, he couldn't help but tap his toes while he ignored his math homework.

Santo squeezed back as gently as he could and nodded. "Bacon can cure a lot of things. Personally, I think it's a miracle meat. Just promise me something? If you have some, can I watch? Can't taste it myself, but I can remember it."

"That has got to be kinky," he said, squinting his eyes a little. "I mean, it sounds kinky."

Santo shook his head quickly. "No! No way. I mean, it's just a thing. Bacon. Imagine not tasting bacon? Nothing kinky. Not the sort of thing... Yeah. Awkward. New subject."

"New subject!" he said with a bright laugh. "What are you thoughts on jello wrestling? Whipped cream panty sets?"

Mark's technicolor blue eyes were dancing with amusement.

Santo would have been bright red if he still had a circulatory system, but he figured he was lucky that way just then.

"Wrestling!" he said, latching onto something familiar. "Not jello, but wrestling? Wrestling is awesome."

"You mentioned that. Oiled men throwing each other around and geting into," he did air quotes, "'submission holds'. You are noooot helping your case."

"Dude, it's all about the theater of it!" Santo insisted. "The grease is nasty."

He sighed and shook his head. "I don't, you know... I'm made of rock, man."

"Yeah, I know," Mark said, cocking his head.

"I don't get my rocks off watching wrestling," Santo finally got out, taking refuge in as horrible a pun as he could think of at the moment.

His expression softened with empathy. "I know," Mark said, "I was teasing; I'll stop now."

Then, impulsively, he flung his arms around Santo's neck and hugged him fiercely.

"It's no big deal," Santo rumbled, hesitating just for a moment before wrapping one massive arm around Mark and hugging him back.

He hummed in pleasure, kicking up his heels and hanging effortlessly on Santo's huge frame.

Santo chuckled as Mark hung off of him, then straightened, picking him up more.

"Want a ride?" he offered Mark. "You can sit on my shoulders if you want."

"Awesome," he said by way of agreement, already climbing.

Santo wasn't entirely unused to being climbed. Back in the old neighborhood the kids had loved him after he'd manifested, using him as a makeshift climbing wall whenever he let them (which was more often than their parents thought he should). So he stayed still until Mark was in a good place, then started walking again.

"So, tell me about yourself," he invited Mark. "I'm guessing you don't collect rocks. What do you do?"

"Music," he said immediately. "I'm trying to learn how to play at least three simple songs on every musical invention still in existence before I die."

"That's awesome!" Santo said, glancing back a little. "Man, I can't play any instruments. I mean, I couldn't before, but I don't know what I could even try now. Maybe drums. I'd crush like, a violin or a guitar and I don't breathe, so no saxophone."

"Maracas!" Mark suggested. "Or cowbell. I bet you'd play a mean rainstick. Or, hey, how about a floor piano?"

"A floor piano wouldn't stand a chance against my feet," Santo sighed. "But I could totally rock a pair of maracas. I'll be your percussion section."

"I bet they make powered versions," Mark argued, leaning down to rest his forehead against Santo's skull briefly, as if to say, cheer up, be happy! "I'll look into it! But otherwise, percussion is the best. They have the most fun."

"Think so?" Santo asked. "Cause if they made something I could stomp on, I'm really good at stomping. I'm thinking when I get to college I'll go with stomping as my major."
