Continued from here

As expected, John returns to the medbay not long after he left. Jack hears the "did you miss me" call, rolls his eyes, and turns his head to call back, "No! You'd have to be gone a lot longer than that." And seeing the blood on John's face, he opens up the drawer with the bandaging in it. "Want to get cleaned up while I configure it?"

He figures Tosh and Ianto have heard the commotion and will be expecting them back up at the sofa, but he wants the equipment ready to go first. And it wouldn't hurt to re-familiarize himself with it, too, so he can better answer any curious questions they have about it.

	As she talks, he gives her little encouraging nods, and he smiles broadly at the more adorable stories. When she brings up her first week, he reaches out to squeeze her hand. "But you were fantastic, Tosh. I wish I'd found you earlier." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Her getting emotional gets him emotional, too, especially with what she says. The video she left for them, the way she looked at him when... It's quite a lot, so he pulls her into a hug, a little awkwardly since he has to avoid knocking the 'tiara' off her head. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

He laughs happily with her, enjoying the nice group hug they've got going. "Me too! Sorry to put you through it, but we'd really kick ourselves if you turned out to be some agent bent on turning Earth into a giant cupcake. Why is it nobody has fun master plans like that?" He laughs more with her question and puts on an exaggerated thinking face. "Gee, I dunno, hire back the best tech we've ever had and a great friend to boot..."

"We had to be sure." He gives John a look-- do-try-to-behave-yourself-if-you-can. Still, they have peace of mind now thanks to John bringing the equipment-- and they wouldn't have Tosh back at all if not for John.

"Thank you." He leans over and gives John a brief, chaste kiss, wanting to show how much they appreciate it without having John think it's anything more than that.

	As Ianto says thank you, John's mouth drops open, and then Jack kisses him, and he stands there, actually speechless, for a moment. "Huh." Then he catches Tosh's eye and grins. "Well, you're welcome." He tucks his arms across his chest, still looking slightly surprised, not even noticing Ianto grabbing Jack. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	It really was a sincere expression of thanks-- but of course, it's also genuine when Ianto tugs him back, and he very genuinely finds that an interesting display. Mark of territory indeed, and Jack isn't about to disagree with that. He's actually rendered speechless himself and only vaguely realizes that Tosh has gone and kissed John.
