The Arrival of the Doctor's Daughter
Jenny runs down the corridor of the large temple, and then around the corner. She presses her back up against the wall, catching her breath before shouting, "Hey, I was just trying to help!" She winces at the sound of approaching gunfire.

Apparently, they don't want her help. Never did, really.

Jenny had arrived on the planet only hours ago, her shuttle in need of refueling. Moments after getting out of her shuttle, she had literally run into a group of Malinaks. Malinaks are tall, thin, blue creatures with two bulging green eyes and eight tentacles that line the tops of their heads. They speak a sort of broken English, an English that is combined with another language she doesn't know so that she literally understands only every other word.

But she had very quickly realized that they were panicked. And it had something to do with a glowing crystal, some sort of religious artifact that was out of reach for the Malinaks. Well, this is what exploring is all about for Jenny! Exploring new planets, meeting new races, and helping out where she can. So she asked where this crystal was supposed to be, and they lead her straight to it. It was in the back of these black caves, stuck up in a high spot, but not unreachable. To be honest, she hadn't been able to understand why the Malinaks couldn't just retrieve it themselves. Or why they had seemed so worried, shouting warnings, as she nimbly climbed the cave wall and picked the crystal up.

Jenny shakes her head at the thought now, muttering to herself, "Religious artifact." Which is only apparently allowed to be touched by the head of the Malinak clan, who happens to be missing. Which is why the Malinaks had been so worried---they didn't know who would be able to retrieve it for their daily prayers. She mutters again, "Oh, yes, I know all that now. Fat lot of good it does me, I've already committed sacrilege."

The footsteps and the gunfire are getting closer and closer. Jenny scans the corridor for anything, any way out, but apparently she's hit a dead end. And then she looks up. Jenny can't help but grin. She jumps up, grabbing onto a metal bar, wrapping her arms and legs around it. She waits for the Malinaks to pass her, to walk right beneath her.

But they never come. Because soon Jenny is falling, hard and fast, but she can't remember ever letting go of the bar. And, in one eye blink, she is slamming into the concrete in the middle of Cardiff.

He smiles at everyone as they take their coffee mugs. "You're welcome. And thank you, I try to be good with timing." He turns to the Doctor. "And it's just Ianto, please."

Trying to steady her balance after being tackled by the blond, she looks back at Jack and realizes from the look on his face that he is going to be no help here.

She hugs Jenny lightly, still completely confused.

Looking over her shoulder at the Doctor, "uh...But...Umm...Doctor you never said...." gesturing her head at the rather beautiful girl.

As they separate, Rose puts on her best. "Eh, Sorry, just caught off guard. Im used to seeing women looking at the Doctor, just not used to him looking back! Its nice to meet you....." Rose lets the sentence trail off unsure exactly what is going on.

Again she looks past Jack and notices the women standing in the background trying not to be noticed. Turning just a bit away from Jenny, her new step daughter???, (though keeping an eye on her) she waves at the women. "Hello there, I'm Rose. Though guess that's already been said. Nice to meet you too."

Not expecting to be addressed, Alice is at first unsure how to respond-- but it does make sense, maybe look out for someone else who's just as much trying to go along with all this.

"Hi. I'm Alice. You're Rose...?"

She looks over to her father-- he's talked plenty about a Rose before, though leaving her with the impression that he was never going to see her again. From the look he gives back, though, this is her.

"You're really Rose?"

Jenny knows there's more to the story about Donna than her dad is telling her. She also knows, by the look on his face, that it's something he has a hard time talking about. So, she let's it go for the moment. She'll ask him again later, when they can talk in private.

After she hugs Rose, she continues to grin, all sorts of questions and comments already flooding her mind, "It's all right. I know it can be a lot to take in. We're not exactly the most traditional family, or so I've been told. Oh, I can't wait to learn more about you! How you met my father, how you fell in love. And do you know my other dad as well?" She forces herself to slow down; only so many questions can be answered at a time.

"You know, why don't we all move to the boardroom, so we can sit down and talk about things? It'll feel much more...organised. And be a bit less confusing." Both things he thinks they could all use right about now.

The Doctor blinks at Ianto a moment, then laughs, setting his mug down. "Right you are, Ianto! Less confusion would probably be good. Though I didn't think to prepare a slide presentation...didn't know I'd need it! But it would likely come in handy right now. Something with charts. Who is connected to who and from where and when and how..." He slides next to Rose and curls his hand reassuringly around hers, before reaching the other hand toward Jenny, and nodding at Jack and his daughter. "Shall we?"

Trust Ianto to come up with the genius, sensible idea. Jack loves that.

"Don't make me bring out the projector... bad enough there's a board you could use! I never thought the who-when-how's on my end would seem simple in comparison... No growing from hands or progenation here!"

Jenny happily takes her dad's hand, ready to go off to the boardroom so that they can all talk, when she suddenly stops. "Wait...about my other dad. ...Is he here? Does he know about me, that I'm back?" She feels the odd worry start to bubble up again. They can't miss each other, not after all of this. Not after she's ended up here, of all places.

The Doctor is busy watching Rose's face, as she still looks lost and confused by all of this, worrying her bottom lip in her teeth. He gently turns Jenny and Rose toward the boardroom. "Go on, I'll catch up." He turns to face Jack and Ianto. "Can we call him? Well, I say we, I mean you. He should be here. It's...I mean, it would be better for him. She's his daughter. I mean, yes, she's mine too, but he needs her more. And she needs him."

As the Doctor holds back to talk to Jack and Ianto, Rose unwillingly lets him pull his hand out of her grip. While the shock of meeting this beautiful woman next to her is fading, she still would like the comfort of his hand in hers.

Feeling rather guilty for the rude reception she offered to both women earlier she forces her best smile and tries to lighten up her body language, shaking off the shock. Looking next to her and realizing that Jenny is there and that her hand is also free she slides her arm around Jenny's and waits for Alice to catch up to them, trying to be extra nice.

"Yeah, yeah of course I can. They really do." He looks over to Alice and exchanges a look, uncomfortable on her part, but they do get it. Even as up-down as their own father-daughter relationship has been, they can understand that need to have your family. "You go on and I'll try to get ahold of him."

Alice goes to follow along with the other women, resuming her curious looks at Rose. Any wobbles of manners that might've happened, well-- how many expectations can you put on someone who's just meeting their lover's daughter they only just learned existed? She supposes that Rose and Ianto would have something to talk about on that.

"Rose, I was under the impression you weren't ever going to be able to come back here?"

He gives Jack's hand a squeeze before heading along with everyone else to the boardroom, leaving him to make the phone call. But he figures that it'd help everyone else, especially Rose, to have someone there who's not emotionally affected by everything.

Jenny looks back at her dad for a moment, but ultimately does as he says. When Rose takes her arm, Jenny offers her a small smile, a thank you in return for the gesture. As Alice asks Rose her question, she looks from one woman to the other before asking, "Well why not?"

Looking from Jenny to Alice and then back to Jenny, Rose sighs lightly. Even after all this time and with how amazing things have turned out, talking about being trapped in "Pete's World" is still hard. Because of this Rose quickly decides that the VERY abbreviated version is best for today's audience.

Arms still linked with Jenny, Rose tilts her head a little towards Alice, "Well...according to the Doctor's it should be impossible to travel between alternate worlds. But, proved them wrong twice now! Really must convince them to stop saying impossible."
Chuckling a little she continues, "Did it the first time when the stars were going out, but ended up being left behind instead of trapped. Though the whole thing out a little better for me this time." As she says that she glances back at the Doctor and smiles, with a little twinkle in her eye.
"Of course the Doctor and I got restless, so he built us a TARDIS," she pauses looking up a bit before continuing, "which was also supposed to be impossible!"
Smiling again, "My Doctor was able to use some of the technology from my first trip so we could travel time, space and alternate worlds. S'pose though that the other Doctor isn't too pleased about the idea."
Rose giggles as they find their way into the conference room and she lets her arm slide out of Jenny's.

She hangs back around Ianto as they walk, for the sake of being nearer to someone familiar with all the surprises going on.

"Apparently they've never watched the children's movies that go on about that. 'Never say never...'. The TARDIS is that thing you used to travel in, right? Back when it was you and the Doctor and, uh... my father."

Now that's very awkward, really sinking in more that Rose knew her father back before he was... different.

Sorry for my delays, RL stuff!

The Doctor catches up to them in the conference room, scratching at the back of his head. "Well now, this looks more...like a conference room." He shrugs and smiles. "As it should, I suppose." He smiles more broadly at Jenny, then Rose, sliding to take a seat next to her, reaching for her hand. "Were we talking about the TARDIS?"

Ianto feels he should be playing the host in Jack's absence. Actually, he's really more of the host type anyway. "Yes. Welcome to our boardroom. Please, sit down, make yourselves comfortable." He himself remains standing, in case anyone wants anything.

Jenny listens to Rose and Alice talk before breaking into the conversation with more of her questions, "So you do know my other dad! How long have you known him? Did you ever travel with him, like Donna? ...Do you know Donna?" She can't help but hope that Rose does know Donna, that maybe she can tell Jenny where she is, why it upsets one of her dads so much to even think about her. Because, as much as she wants to talk to her dad about it, she doesn't know how much he'll tell her. She's noticed that they both tend to bottle off their emotions at times, to try to deal with the harder things on their own.

"Were we talking about the TARDIS?"

She gives her father a sort of sad smile as she comes out of her thoughts, "Yeah. Yeah, we were."

Jenny sits down at Ianto's request, before asking him, "Aren't you going to sit as well?"

Rose blushes at Jenny as she starts peppering her with questions about the two men she loves.

Twirling her engagement ring she quietly nods her head, "Ohhh yeah I know your other Dad, quite well! Traveled with him two and Jack for awhile before I..." her voice trails off to nothing, as a little bit of sadness falls over her.

Rose breaths deeply a few times, regaining her composure before looking over to her Doctor, then to Ianto Alice and finally back to Jenny. She really isn't sure what to say about Donna, barely met her really and it pains the Doctor so much anytime her name is brought up. All she can offer Jenny right now is a quick glance, and a "uh-huh".

He looks to Rose, seeing she's looking more upset and distressed. "Would you like some tea?" Although he prefers coffee, he knows he's in the minority, and it does tend to be more relaxing.
