Today had not been a very good day at all. Jeremy had left yesterday and Izzy was more worried about finals than she would ever admit to anyone and she and Ben were fighting, apparently. Again.
She honestly didn't know what the issue was. He seemed to be upset with her for accepting Brooke's invitation to get out of town for awhile. She didn't get that, especially since she'd insisted on being back for New Years Eve because of him.
Anyway, he, of all people, should understand why her being elsewhere those few days after Christmas might be a good thing. So what if she'd never come out and said it or if she hadn't even really let him see how completely heartbroken she'd been four Christmases ago. So what if he didn't know she'd blamed herself, that a part of her still did. Izzy figured he should know, anyway.
She didn't understand it and.. it was stupid. Why couldn't he just be her boyfriend. More than that, why couldn't he be er best friend and see how much she needed him right now. She'd spent a bit of time with Wyatt earlier, hung out and halfway distracted herself, but.. she needed Ben.
She didn't even know if he was coming over tonight. He usually did, during the week, but.. he was pissed at her, apparently and the bigger part of her was expecting his to just not show. Which was probably why she was lying on her side, curled up into half a ball and staring at her phone, debating on whether she should just call Jeremy. She didn't want to interrupt his homecoming with Dari, but.. Izzy missed her brother. Especially now, when she felt like he was one of the only people who actualy understood her.
"Suck it up, Sawyer," she muttered to herself, snapping the phone closed. "You're a big girl now. It's been four years and you can't just g crying to your brother everytime you're upset about something.." Yep, giving herself a little pep talk, going completely crazy and talking to herself. That was surely going to help.
