Closed courtyard- Exterior
The courtyard is enclosed on three sides by buildings and the fourth side by a fence. The fence is a none permanent structure but is currently solid and unbroken.
The marks of previous construction work lie about but most of it has been cannibalised to build extra defences.

Alex raised his head enough to look at Snap, quirking an eyebrow at the dog. "I hope you know you're the luckiest one out of everyone here." He murmured, addressing the dog as one would talk to another person. "No primate or specifically hominoid DNA in you is there? Lucky you." He let out a small sigh. "Bloody lucky"

His eyes flicked briefly to DP as he moved but returned his attention to Snap.

The dog's head tipped in the other direction as the man spoke, his ears pricking even further. The raised foot came down and the tail wagged, once, as a high-pitched questioning growl rumbled out of his throat.

DP hesitated, then glanced at the man who was blocking his exit. He looked at Snap, then at the door, then glanced at Alex again. After a moment, very quietly, he murmured, "...can I get by?"

Alex shrugged, gritting his teeth as the action pulled at the stitches in his arm and moved out the way. "If you want...not stopping you." He muttered. "Although...might be worth waiting a bit...to calm down?" He shrugged again, being careful to only do so with one shoulder this time. "Not that it's any of my business."

DP froze, then looked at Alex out of the corner of his eye. "...calm down from what?"

"Nothing." Alex muttered, letting his head fall back against the wall and glanced up at the sky.

DP hesitated another moment, then, when Alex didn't press, he began to relax, tension slowly leaving the set of his shoulders. After a breath, he turned and leaned against the wall next to the other man, his eyes on Snap as the dog echoed the easing of tension by stepping forward and beginning to sniff at Alex's shoes with interest.

DP let the dog sniff for a few moments, then pushed off the wall again, saying, softly, "...you were right. We shouldn't be out here, even if it is a protected courtyard."

Alex stiffened slightly as DP leant against the wall, eyeing him out the corner of his eye, but when the other man didn't move he went back to his normal posture. Brown eyes flicked back down to the dog as he began to sniff his shoes, just watching him.

Alex gave the tiniest of starts as DP moved again before shrugging one shoulder at the comment. "I'm always bloody right." He muttered and then gave a small snort. "Protected...glass on top of walls...that's not protection.."
