Who: Anyone Logan has invited to the Thanksgiving Party. Pretty much open to the entire Syncratic student body. EXCEPT FOR THAT FUCKTARD BRONSON! (Logan made me say that.)
Where/When: Logan's house, Saturday night.
Why: Pot pumpkin pie. What other reason do you need?
Warnings: Drug use, superhero smut, language, turkey.

The head caterer had immediately gotten on Logan's bad side. Logan could see his point, which just made it more aggravating; being ordered about by a 17 yr old wasn't very dignified at all. But Logan had made it abundantly clear to Trina she was not invited, had given her the black Amex and sent her on her way, leaving the place adult-free. Now the caterer was giving Logan a snooty face as he set up the chafing dishes under the entrees. "So all this food," and he talked like he was speaking about children, "Is just for a bunch of... teenagers?"

Logan sighed, rubbed his face. "Teenagers with very good taste, I promise." Sighed at the look the caterer was giving him. "Look, you're getting paid, just set shit up and get out, okay? We'll appreciate every fucking crumb." The caterer turned away with a sniff, and Logan gave him the middle finger.

When the caterer finally left, Logan set out his own contribution to the dessert table, smiled gently down at the twin pumpkin pies he'd labored so hard over. He hadn't been able to resist when he'd found the recipe online, and being less than retarded, had been able to make them. He snuck a creampuff, sat on the stairs while he waited for his guests to arrive.

Logan shook his head, dropped the pen on the desk. The scent in the room was starting to overwhelm him, make him remember too many times here. And hearing Duncan talk about Meg, what she must go through in a similar room. But he had to get up, pace the small floor to work off his jitters.

"You guys have power as the baby's parents. Could take off together." Logan stopped his aimless pacing for a moment, looked at his friend as he drew the sleeves of his hoodie over his hands. "Are Celeste and Jake any help?"

Duncan snorted and shot him a partially amused look. "Sure, Celeste will write the abortion check and Jake will explain to me why for once she's right about it, fuck that. Fuck them. They're not anyone I'd consult about parenthood." Rubbed his shoulder a little and watched Logan a sec.

"Dude, we don't have to be in here, you wanna go outside?"

Logan shook his head, wondered why he had even asked. "Sorry, dude. Gees." Stopped for a moment, thinking and then started his pacing again. "FUCK. With all our parental examples, why would we even think about reproducing?" Shot an apologetic look at Duncan. "I mean, present company excluded."

He waved his hand dismissively. "No, I'm okay." To prove his point he sat down again, tapped his thumb against his lips. "Duncan. You gonna marry her? Do you love her?"

Duncan laughed. "Why? Well, because we can raise our offspring to hate our parents. And do everything opposite what our parents did and probably raise half decent kids." He shrugged. "It's not that that's bad, or anything. Fuck my parents, Lilly would say the same thing. We're our own people and I'm not a bad person."

Sighed. "Yeah I do. And I would but she's not 18 yet, we'd have to wait, her parents wouldn't give us anything resembling permission so if we take off. .it'll have to wait." Nodded. "But I wanna, she's. .somethin'. Kinda perfect and beautiful and she's all I think about. She's all my good, it only makes sense to marry her and have this baby and do my best."

Logan went very still at that, watched Duncan for a long moment. Then dropped his attention to a hole in his sleeve, worried it for a moment. "Hey, ya know. I've been having weird thoughts about Tess." He grinned at the look Duncan gave him. "Not like that. Just, like..." He waved a hand. "Like thinking of the future. Like us together."

He stood again, dropped a hand on Duncan's shoulder. "Anyway. Whatever, this is about you. Wait then, sweep her away soon as you can." He opened the door, heard Tess laughing. Quickly closed the door again. "Duncan, I'm so screwed. I wanna marry that girl."

Duncan watched him, furrowed his brow playfully. "Why's that screw you?" Shook his head, stood and playfully punched Logan's shoulder. "I mean, I think the whole age shit is dumb. If you love her, do it." Paused and tried to sound wise. "Just don't wait until you get her pregnant or you know, that's so much less romantic, and shit." Winked.

"Tess is a nice girl. And she seems to care about you enough for all of us. I think I can be a woman here and say you deserve that kinda love after the shit you've been through man, if Tess makes you happy, that means something there is right. Maybe this is the family, and by that I mean the two of you, that you've been looking for."

"Yeah, I'll leave the whole knocking up thing to you and Dick," Logan said, grinning. "And people always thought I was the irresponsible one." He sat back, musing over what Duncan had told him for a moment, then shook his head. "Well, shit, we're not even out of high school yet. I'll just give it some time. She's going to Hearst, did you hear? She'll meet some guy who's loads better for her than I am. Might as well let her have that chance, anyway." He shrugged. "If it happens, it happens."

He tilted his head to look at Duncan, at the shit Duncan was facing. "This ain't about me right now, Dunks. You think you guys be safe enough riding it out until Meg's birthday?"

Duncan shrugged. "I don't know, but I really hope so." Finished his drink off and clapped on on the shoulder. "Just remember, dude. You never know what might happen tomorrow, don't let cold feet make you let a good thing pass you by. I think. .we all learned after Lily not to take a single day for granted."

Threw the cup away and glanced around the room. "You should re-decorate, get his essence off of this room." Licked his lips. "Make it more feminine and stuff."

Logan glanced around the room. All of Aaron's scripts hard bound on the shelf, his well-stocked bar, other books more for show than anything. "Yeah," he said softly. "I should. I really don't know what to do with this place. Probably just sell it. Not a lot of good memories here."

He went to the door, paused for a moment with his hand on the knob. "I told Lilly once I'd marry her. Ya shoulda seen her laugh." He rubbed his face. "So I guess you're right. Now," and he clapped his hands, "we need to get some partying going." Opened the door, gave Duncan one more grin and faded into the crowd.
