We have a destination!



The city of Light that never sleeps


In the early morning of October 25th, the Surprise will set in orbit above a planet that from orbit looks to merely be made up of a single island mass. This island, known as Spira, is where the Surprise intends to allow it’s passengers to stop off on to stretch their legs, gather any supplies they might want or require and see if there is anyone in the area to pick up that the computer itself has not noticed.

While, the island itself is the focus of the Surprise’s attention, the passengers will be set down in Zanarkand, in the days before Sin’s destruction. While the Surprise makes some touch-ups and attempts to sort out where they are going next, the passengers will be permitted to explore the city and the surrounding area, but it would be wise to not wander too far, as it is a long travel without airship or chocobo transport.

In Character

- Suri will answer any questions the passengers may have in her usual sarcastic and annoyed manner. Feel free to ask her about the food, the history, the religion and whatever else you want to know. She will not, however, tell you about what is about to happen to it’s people. It is not due to the collapse of realities, so she will not deem it important. Your characters cannot themselves recognize it and realize what is meant to happen. The no canon puncturing rule will apply to realities as well as characters.

- However, the passengers might be able to rescue a few of the random citizens of Zanarkand and allow Suri to set them down in another, more stable reality in the next stop. This is not a collapsing reality, but is still deemed too unstable to remain in for longer than a week.

- While there, the passengers may explore the market place, their money will have been transferred to gil, the standard currency of all the lands of Ivalice. They can do whatever they like, as the city is used to travelers from all over and will think nothing of the strangers who are wandering through the city. You can visit the blitz ball stadium and take in a game.

- The passengers will not be permitted to bring any of the creatures they find in the city on board. That means no Moogles. Yes, they’re cute. No, you can’t keep them. And no chocobos, they’re huge and the ship doesn’t have anywhere to house them and no one wants to clean up after them.

Out of Character

- The plot is meant to last a week, the last day being the day that Sin arrives to destroy Zanarkand (November 1st). The characters will not be able to remain behind and help, as the destruction and consequent saving of Spira is in the hands of Tidus and his party and is a fixed point in Spira’s history.

- Yes, we are touching down in a world from Final Fantasy. This does not mean, that you can encounter any of the characters from FFX aside from the creatures themselves. Tidus, Yuna and the rest wouldn’t be there, since this is meant to be years before the beginning of the game.

As Lynsey's post just announced, there's going to be a FUN Q&A with the crew to help people wrap their heads around how little and how much everyone knows. And they might even be easier to talk to than Suri!

So. . .give me like five minutes to set that up and you guys can tag in with the characters' questions, complaints and kitten whispers.
