House Spam [30 Jul 2019|06:35pm]
[She sits at the table with the new women and tries to be pleasant. She's upset and hurt by Stan, but she doesn't want to take it out on them. She smiles at the other women, carefully avoiding Stan as they chat until she just can't hold it in anymore she turns to him and says]
I can't believe you did this. I was trying not to say anything, but I simply can't hold it in anymore. We're supposed to be a family and you didn't even consult any of us. You didn't even let them meet us before bringing them into our home so now they're invested-- we're all invested in this and you haven't even told them if they can stay or not. I would have never believed you would do this. [She's an angry crier]

So Midge is married, and we're supposed to call her Gerty or Gert now. She's married to Charles Stewart. [He puts a bunch of party favors down on the table] These are for everyone.

[Marie]
That wedding got me thinking about you in a white dress.

Team Steph Spam [30 Jul 2019|07:21pm]
[He sits at the table with Lucky and Steph eating paninis and soup that Lucky made. Sarge naps on the kitchen counter]
So I talked to Natasha earlier. Steve Rogers doesn't seem interested in politics. I think that the best course of action is just to run for office. Colonel Rhodes was explaining the way that the system works, the current mayor was appointed by default and he got to choose his own cabinet and make all of his own laws. It's really a free for all.

I think that the path of least resistance might be the best path. No unnecessary bloodshed. If not, I think a lot of good people might get caught up in the crossfires.

[Clint]
Hey, I'm Nick Romanoff. I don't know if it's too weird for you, but if you wanted to get a drink together I'm open to it.

Carson Family Spam [30 Jul 2019|07:26pm]
[When Charlie returns to the house with Midge wearing a ring, her heart races. She needs to up her game without sacrificing her innocent image in his eyes. She runs up to greet him with a hug, telling him that she wasn't sure he was ever coming back and quickly pulls him out of the house to ask him a private question before the other girls can interfere. Naz and Olive are the worst competition she has, they all were trained at the same school, but she has the upper hand. She's gotten the approval of his best friend. She lets him in on some insecurities, pouring her heart out about how she wants to have a real shot at being a good wife and how good she can be, but how she needs to know that he can get along with her family because her family is her life. They go out to dinner and it's nice, but the whole time, she's thinking up ways that she can keep him out of the house long enough to lock in his heart without sleeping with him. That would definitely ruin her image in his mind.

She takes a long walk with him and they go dancing at a jazz club until the early hours of the morning, falling asleep in his convertible as they watch the sun rise. She wakes him up with a kiss and coffee from a nearby shop, she got him a croissant too. The look on his face tells her that she's still doing well. She takes the risk, asking him to meet her family to which he enthusiastically agrees. Laurel sends a text to her mom, "Charlie's coming over to meet everyone, tell Daddy to be nice!!"

When they arrive at the Carson Mansion, he seems just a little bit too eager to talk to her father. She's not entirely sure what's going on in his mind, but for him, this is the opportunity to confront the family that is sexist, racist, ableist, and so very republican. The Carsons of his generation have gone out of the way to make his family uncomfortable in almost every public setting and now he's going in as a suitor to a Carson girl. If the Carsons he knew could walk in and see this, they'd die of heart attacks. Laurel, a sister wife with Joyce, Mai, Mina, Ashima, and so many other women, standing as their equal in the eyes of the law and God. It's a sort of poetic justice. ]

Text to Alfie [30 Jul 2019|09:14pm]
>Hey, I know you left the hospital, you doing ok?

[Evie]
Honestly, I can't tell what's worse, office jobs or the club. [She says, writing her at all hours of the night because she knows she'll still be up. Third trimester insomnia] At least we got to leave the workload in the club.

[Tony]
[She knows she probably should still be doing the silent treatment thing because he didn't "earn her time back"... but she's pretty excited about what she made. It's taken a few weeks to complete, but it's done now. She knows she can't protect him physically like he always does for her, and he never opens up enough for her to be his shoulder to cry on like he also is for her. But she notices things. In the hospital, she witnessed his nightmares. Things like that just don't go away on their own.

So she made a dreamcatcher. An ancient Stepford tool, it's made of willow branches that are molded into a circle and then there's a web that is woven with a hole in the center. Off of the wooden frame, different lengths of feathers dangle on strings. Legend has it that every night, everyone has good dreams and bad dreams, but if you hang the dream catcher over your bed, the bad dreams get tangled in the web and then only the good ones float down the feathers back to you. When the sun rises, the nightmares from the web burn up.

It's a bit of magic, she's no witch, but she does feel like there's a certain power to traditions. She even embellished the dream catcher with some nice stones and gems that are supposed to bring good luck and a calm energy since he's always attracting bad luck and he's always so stressed. That's why when she goes in the following morning, she brings the catcher and a little note explaining what it does and where to put it with her. She puts them on the desk he usually works at and then goes to meet her team for breakfast to discuss their work for the day.

She didn't actually talk to him or even see him, so she doesn't think this actually counts.]
