Thread: The Drive
WHO: Mickey, Caleb, and Leon
WHEN: Sunday-Monday-ish [backdated]
WHERE: The road to Nashville.
Leon hadn't been in many cars, and that may seem strange in this day and age, but he'd had no need for them while in Haiti, and taxis to and from airports didn't really count. The Cherokee reservation wasn't so traditional that they didn't use automotive transportation, but his mother and the Elders didn't need them, and they were who Leon spent his time with. He'd ridden in more cars since coming to St. Margaret's in the last few years than any other part of his seventeen years combined. Mickey's aunt's Jeep Cherokee was nice, and so far, so was the driving.
Currently Caleb was at the helm and they were almost out of New York, with a long way to go still, and about seventy five more miles before they needed to stop for gas.
Leon glanced down at his phone that served as their navigation, plugged into the console charger to stay juiced, and guiding them through the roads that would help them avoid the state Leon was reluctant to get near. He was tahnkful that Caleb hadn't asked why he didn't want to see North Carolina. Mickey hadn't questioned it, either, and so Leon settled in for the ride, enduring another mixture of music that Mickey had compiled for the road trip on his ipod to educate the Voodooist on popular sounds. Leon was reminded more and more of how withdrawn his childhood had been. He was decades behind the average teen, but luckily he had friends to keep him up to date - however much they disbelieved he'd never heard of Nicki Minaj or Shakira.
"So, this is Latin music, orrr..." he hazarded to guess, glancing back at Mickey in the back seat, then to Caleb to see if he knew.
