Driving was something Caleb enjoyed doing and was both sad and relieved that his car hadn't been ready for this semi-impromptu trip. Sad because a road trip would have been the perfect way to get her used to the road, but relieved that whatever any of them spilled wouldn't be on his seat liner.
He had been happy to take the first shift and get them through some pretty hairy traffic. He appreciated the navigation, but he'd picked up a road map too, just in case. He wasn't worried about not making it there, but he didn't trust technology 100% when it came to what he could see with his own eyes. Delays and detours did happen.
Tapping his fingers on the wheel, Caleb turned his eyes slightly to look at Leon and gave him an honest shrug. "I'm not really into music, singing along was never really my thing," he joked, the corner of his mouth curling up so the two passengers could plainly see he was poking fun at himself. He was worried that he came off too serious, and that was something he wanted to work on during the trip, as well as doing a destination piece about Nashville. At the least, it would be good for the school newspaper and help on his college entrance if he decided to go. Best case was the school kicked him back some money because it could be stretched to be a work-study trip.
