Thread: Black vs White
WHO: Paxton and James
WHEN: Sunday March 15
WHERE: Sitting area in the castle
It was a lazy cloudy Sunday afternoon, the perfect kind to stay inside doing nothing but lounging around and relaxing before the week started. James was sitting in one of the comfortable armchairs near the low fire in the fireplace of the sitting room. The chess board was already set up before him on the table, white and black soldiers in lines, standing at attention to protect their King and Queen. James enjoyed the different analogies chess offered about life. He mused on some of them now as he waited for Paxton to join him for their match. Black and white pieces could stand for good and evil, pawns were sacrificed like fodder for the greater will of the King. The game ended when the King was slain, no one left to give orders to the soldiers.
James was sitting on the white side of the board, curious and amused to see Paxton's reaction to being defaulted to black.
He was finishing his afternoon snack of animal blood in a container beside him. The lid was on, keeping the blood from drying up too fast and to keep it from spilling, should it be knocked over onto the castle's decorative rugs that were who knew how old. James lifted the mug and twisted the top off, sipping slowly as he lounged back, legs crossed at the knee, suit pressed and hair perfect as always. A message came through to his phone and James reached for it on the table, reading through it and responding. The duties of the leader of the academy's vampire coven were never ending.
