new teams
As we're sure you all have noticed by now, there are four teams listed on the information hub that are not yet open for play. We plan on opening two of them in the very near future. Tonight we're going to list some concepts for these teams and let players decide by a vote which are the most popular ideas. The top two will become our Charlie and Golf teams. In the future, as all of our existing teams fill up, we will unlock Romeo and Juliet with two of the ideas which do not get voted in at this time. This vote will run until 8/27 at midnight EST. Results will be announced on 8/28. Concept A: these supers are entrusted with hunting down and apprehending other supers so that the human police don't have to. They're highly trained, and each of them must have proven their loyalty to the program and the government beyond any doubt. They could be former government employees who volunteered to be experimented on for the sake of becoming supers, they could be supers who voluntarily turned themselves in, or they could be agents who've been in the Ghost Corps long enough to show that they can be trusted. These supers would have spotless records. Their missions tend to be dangerous by virtue of the fact that they have to fight other supers. The rewards are worth the risks, however; their leashes have the most slack of any other team. Possible team nickname: The Bloodhound Gang.
Concept B: this team is comprised of society's biggest undesirables. These were people who belonged in jail even without the additional crime of being supers; the murderers, the rapists, the ones who most would agree should be locked away and the key melted down. They require heavier monitoring and discipline. Some of these were recruited because their powers were too irresistible, and are kept in the program for the same reason. Maybe they're motivated by the chance to go out and commit violence on missions. Some of these were human death row inmates whose deaths were faked so that they could be experimented on, resulting in the supers they are now. This team would also serve as a last ditch effort to retain supers who have misbehaved almost to the point of being kicked out, or who have tried to escape more than once. It's a step between the Graveyard and a black site, their last chance at redemption. This team would get the worst, most dangerous assignments, and has a high turnover rate due to its agents' untimely demises or banishment from the program.
Concept C: security detail. They don't get to go out on actual missions much, but they're very highly trained individuals who are expected to be able to defend Purgatory in the event that a breakout attempt occurs or the base is attacked. They work closely with the human security guards, and spend a lot of their training perfecting methods to take down their fellow Ghosts in the most efficient manners possible. Members of this team cannot have been sent to the Graveyard for misbehavior, and may volunteer to join other teams on outside missions.
Concept D: another team like Alpha. As a refresher of that team's description, the focus of this team is more militaristic in nature. Need something done subtly? Find another team to do it. This is the team to use when action is necessary and collateral isn't an important factor. Their missions might not necessarily be considered more dangerous, but they're more likely to get into an all-out fight, leading to a higher casualty rate and more clean up. It takes a strong stomach and resilient personality to be on this team.
Concept E: another wildcard team like Foxtrot. As a refresher of that team's description, there are some supers in Ghost Corps whose powers don't quite fit into the roles most teams expect to need most of the time. These wildcard supers are placed into teams like this one--considered one of the catch-all teams--and are known as floaters. This team rarely, if ever, goes on missions as a group; instead, members of this team are loaned out to other teams as needed.
As a tangential announcement, we have done some additions and rearranging of the locked teams. The teams we will be unlocking are Juliet and Romeo, which will share a housing floor. The teams that will remain locked are Charlie and Delta, which will also share a housing floor. We have also added two NPC teams, Uniform and Victor, also sharing a housing floor, which will come into play for future plots.
