Who: Jack and Hemingway
Where: The diner
What: Catching up
When: Today
Rating: TBD
Open: To Amy and Abi
Status: Ongoing

Jack had agreed to meet up with his father now things had calmed down enough that he was happy to leave Amy. Yes he knew damn well his girlfriend could handle herself, but it didn’t stop him worrying.

It had taken all he had to wait for his father to actually show up before he grabbed some food. Apparently chaos worked wonders for his appetite.

"I want to talk about it if you do," Jack replied. God he was a babbling idiot

"I do." Amy wouldn't tell him how much she liked thinking about the future. That she might have even kept a notebook filled with her future dreams that she made as a child. "I really do."

"Then we will, just not in a crowded diner with my father?" Jack teased

Ernest ordered the burgers, and returned with three rather precariously held glasses of soda that he did somehow manage not to spill.

"I didn't ask about drinks, so you're having a coke," he told her as he placed them down. "Unless you strongly object, and then I might consider swapping it for you," he added with a smile.

"It's all fine Papa...I don't drink much...there are not your fault things." Jack reassured him.

"It's not that crowded." Amy teased back.

She smiled to Ernest when he came back. "A coke is lovely. Thank you so much."

"It is for this particular conversation," Jack replied

Ernest glanced between them, getting the feeling that he was interrupting something... but he wouldn't embarrass his son by questioning it. He'd just leave them to it after lunch.

"Um- how are your craft classes coming along, Amy?" he asked conversationally.

"They're wonderful!" Amy exclaimed. "I don't get as many people as I'd like, but there are so many other things to do on the island. And smaller classes let me give more personal attention to the students."

"I'll need to bring Charlie along sometime," he suggested. "Although he's currently more into destruction than creation," he admitted.
