Jack had agreed to meet up with his father now things had calmed down enough that he was happy to leave Amy. Yes he knew damn well his girlfriend could handle herself, but it didn’t stop him worrying.

It had taken all he had to wait for his father to actually show up before he grabbed some food. Apparently chaos worked wonders for his appetite.

	Ernest ordered the burgers, and returned with three rather precariously held glasses of soda that he did somehow manage not to spill. "I didn't ask about drinks, so you're having a coke," he told her as he placed them down. "Unless you strongly object, and then I might consider swapping it for you," he added with a smile.
