Marta instantly stopped what she was doing as Jake carefully locked the window he was at. Then he reached over and made sure the back door was locked as well while Marta just looked round at Aaron. She started quickly going through all the different rooms in the house, trying to work out if anywhere had lights on or unlocked doors and windows, but this was the only room they'd really been using, other than the bedroom.
She glanced over at Jake, who had slid down so that he wasn't at the window. When she raised an eyebrow at him in question, he just shrugged and pointed at a couple of the bioluminescent spots on his arm and she understood. Plus his eyes did seem to reflect any amount of light, and they'd no doubt attract unwanted attention.
The creatures outside were communicating now, which would have been fascinating if she wasn't just a bit terrified, but she kept herself as calm as she could. Reaching over to Aaron, she put her hand on his arm to get his attention before pointing down at her basement. It wouldn't be as warm as the room they were in since there was no fire, but it might be safer, and they'd be hidden from the velociraptors.
