Who: Aaron, Marta and blue Jake
When: today
Where: Aaron and Marta's house
What: Jake is visiting!
Jake made his way along the empty streets towards Aaron and Marta's house, scenting the air for almost the entire way while his ears seemed to be on a swivel. He held his dagger loosely in his hand as he ran through the city; he'd seen some of the things in the forest and jungle, and he knew they were wandering the streets during this permanent night. He wasn't going to take any more chances than he had to, to keep an eye on his people.
Soon enough, he spotted the dull glow coming from Aaron's kitchen window, and picked up the pace. Within a minute, he was on the porch. Crouching down low enough, he knocked on the back door.
"Hey, you guys in?"
Marta was there almost before he'd finished speaking, still wearing her dressing gown, reading glasses firmly in place and holding a book (something beyond nerdy that Tommy would probably love, no doubt) as she opened the door. "Come in, Jake. I've just made coffee if you... oh, no, you're Na'vi, you won't. Come in, it's cold out," she said, before turning and heading back over to the fireplace to lift the coffee pot as she continued to list things Jake could eat if he wanted. She had two pencils and a pen stuck in her ponytail, Jake noticed.
"I'm fine, thanks. Sook made sure I ate before I left," he replied, sitting cross-legged once he'd closed the door (the house was more than big enough for him to remain Na'vi when he was inside, and Marta had told him off in the past for using the charm just to make other people feel more comfortable, so he stayed Na'vi when he was there). "How're the batteries holding out?"
"Good! Good, yes! This one's almost done, but it's lasted for a while now. We've got LED lights all round the house - well, the rooms we're using right now, anyway - and they don't put too much drain on the battery. Are you sure you don't want anything? There's fresh bread, we baked it just before we went to sleep." She poked at the fire as she spoke, and added a couple more logs before pouring herself a mug of coffee and sitting down at the table which was covered in books and paper. The lack of her computers wasn't affecting her too bad, it seemed.
"Yeah, okay, go on," he said, since she was determined to feed him, then tilted his head as something occurred to him. "Is your sleeping pattern completely fucked as well? Is Aaron still in bed?"
