Aaron let out a little chuckle at the insult, not insulted at all. He took the sights off his rifle and held them up to his eyes, outside his window. It took a moment to register what he was seeing but there was no mistaking it.
"Yeah, they deadbolt, but be quiet. They have better hearing than you do," he muttered under his breath. "Velociraptors," he explained to Marta, worried about her more than himself. He could run, Jake could run, Marta was a normal human. "We need to be very quiet and very still until they turn away from the house," he leant in and whispered in her ear.
