Aaron jumped up to sit on the counter and ran a hand over his face, feeling the roughness of his callouses. "We have enough yeah, but there's people with kids out there who need a power source. They can't survive on fire for much longer, all our resources are getting used up..." he sighed and sipped a bit slower at his coffee.
He hadn't noticed the noise until Jake did but it was distinct now; paw pads or some kind of predator stalking outside the house. He had boarded it up for the most part, but it still wasn't safe outside. "Yeah I hear it. You think you can get past it? You're welcome to stay for the night. I can't guarantee there ain't a velociraptor round the corner waiting for dinner."
