Steve still wasn't sure what was going on. The first couple of minutes after he got to the island were okay. After that, he started hearing voices. He could make out the different ones in the temple as they were the loudest. He tried to ignore it as he made his way to the meditation chamber but by the time he got there, his head was pounding.

"Micha?" He dropped to his knees just inside the doorway, his hands going to his head.

Steve closed his eyes and tried to take slow, deep breaths. He needed to shut it out. "It's so loud." He tried to concentrate on her voice. To focus, but the voices kept bombarding him. One small voice caught his attention. The thoughts weren't verbal, they were strange and different from the others. He looked up at Micha, his eyes a little wide.

"I can hear him......."

"I know. Don't try and communicate with him, he'll be frightened." Micha sent a wave of reassurance toward their son, then focused her attention back on Steve. "It is loud, but you can do this Steve. Imagine a wall around you, so high and so thick that it blocks out all voices but what you choose to listen to. Now imagine a window in that wall where you can see me and hear my voice."

This would be a crude mental barrier, but there wasn't time for subtle. And likely this would all be temporary anyway.

Steve just nodded. He closed his eyes again and tried to do what she said. The wall went up, getting higher and higher until everything was quiet except for Micha. He kept taking slow, deep breaths. Every now and then someone else would sneak through, but it wasn't as bad anymore.

"It was like....being in a crowded room with everyone talking at the same time." He took her hands in his and squeezed gently. "Some were louder than others."

	"I've not experienced it like that, but I've heard telepaths speak of it." Micha squeezed back and guided his hand to her stomach to let him feel their son's movements. 	"Somewhat." Micha frowned as she tried to think of how to describe the Force to someone who'd never experienced it. "More like a low level background noise, with certain things sometimes standing out and demanding attention. Most of the time I don't pay attention to the noise unless the Force is trying to tell ms something or there's someone I care about involved." (Reply to this) (Parent)
