Who: Jake and Tommy (open to anyone else at the Sully house)
Where: Chez Sully
When: Evening, November 12
What: Ghosts
Warnings: Ghosts
Jake wouldn't have said he was getting used to the ghosts. Not as such. But he didn't jump any more when one of the guys from bootcamp showed up and trailed around the forest after him, staring at him with dead eyes, or when one of his Na'vi brothers or sisters appeared beside him, weird smoke pouring from their many bullet wounds. He had a lot of dead, after all. The fact that Grace or Trudy or his mom hadn't shown up yet was a good thing, though. He didn't want to see how their ghosts would judge him. And he was doing his damnedest to not even think about Quaritch.
He definitely wasn't prepared for leaving Hometree in the morning and almost bumping into Tsu'tey's ghost, though. It was just the beginning of a pretty rough day, with Tsu'tey following after him for most of the morning, who was thankfully silent. Eytukan showed up again to whisper about how Jake was a traitor to the people, which meant lunch was skipped since Jake had no appetite to speak of after seeing ghost-smoke flowing freely from his Olo'eyktan's stomach, where he'd been impaled by a huge splinter from Hometree.
His dad showed up after that, and he didn't even need to say anything for Jake to instantly feel like he was 8 years old again, and doing everything wrong. The only good thing about this whole shitty experience was that it wasn't the Fog again, and so it wasn't actually fucking with his brain, no matter how much his dad glared at him. His stomach churned as he watched his father's half-decomposed ghost, and he decided that skipping dinner might be a good plan as well.
He made his way to the house, reasoning that if his dad saw his brother, he wouldn't be quite as angry any more, and Jake could stop feeling like shit for no reason. Once he reached the edge of the forest, he activated the charm that folded his Na'vi body down into its human disguise, and then ran on up the hill to the back door of the house.
"Anyone in?" he asked, as loudly as he dared, and hoped that no more ghosts had followed him inside.
