WEDDING THREAD
Though the wedding was simple, Mary and Stevie had been working hard with their families over the past week to make sure it'd be beautiful.

When guests first arrive at the park they'd be greeted with a small set up to send them in the right direction. They'd first walk through the reception area, where there are tables set up to drop off any food people might be bringing with them, in between the one holding Sookie's beautiful cake and one holding coolers full of food to be grilled later and lots of drinks, even some with edible flower ice cubes Mary had made up. Across from those there are lots of mis-matched tables and chairs, covered in jars full of bright flowers-which would be a theme running through the wedding. They reminded Mary Ellen of the years when she and Stevie had been young, playing in Peggy's garden together.

Once through the reception area, the ceremony is set up a little more formally, with flowers again lining the aisle, dark wood chairs set up to face a simple floral and birch archway where the two of them would wed. There are no programs, but hanging on the back of each chair there are 2-3 paper cones filled with more flower petals, with instructions printed on the paper that the petals should be thrown both as Mary Ellen walks down the aisle with her dad and again when the newlyweds walk back down after the ceremony.

Almost as soon as the ceremony is over, the grill would be started and all the food and coolers opened up. Guests would be told to help themselves whenever they like for their meal and once everyone seems done eating some of the tables would be pushed aside to form a make-shift dance floor and the music would start up louder. Then, after the ceremonial dances and a few more songs, the cake would be cut and shared all around. The party would go as long as people are interested, with Mary Ellen and Stevie being some of the last to leave.

Along with the food and music there would be other things gathered around to keep guests, especially the little ones, entertained. One table would be covered with butcher paper with crayons and markers, there would be a basket full of bubbles, a twister game, and every table would have a few I spy cards with a note to send all the favorite pictures to Mary and Stevie at the end of the day.

Claire's eyes tracked the pie, flicked up to the spook, then smirked up at his face. Half demon, half angel, half brother... It still ran over in her head like the strangest thing that'd ever happened to her. But every day here, she knew it wasn't. At least Rory seemed normal.

She sighed softly and accepted the spoon. "Are we sharing or are you just giving it to me?"

"You can have it. I really only eat because it freaks people out when I don't." He shrugged.

Claire looked at him for a moment, tracing the edge of her teeth with her tongue behind her lips- a habit when she knew nothing she had to say was useful. Or appropriate.

"Okay..." She added as a thought, and purposely decided to move past it by taking a bit off the pointed end of the pie. She chewed it for a second, noting first that it was pretty good.

"So this is awkward," she finally said around the bite, sitting back in her chair. Absently she crossed her legs, the beige colored stiletto hanging from her toe as she looked around. "Not really sure what I'm doing here."

Rory chuckled at her response. "I don't actually need to eat. It's one of the advantages of being a daemon. But Dean used to tell me it was really creepy when he and Sam would be eating dinner and I'd just be sitting there watching them so I got into the habit of it." He shrugged. He then looked around the reception before looking back at Claire.

"You're here to meet some new people." He decided.

"Yeah- that would be kinda creepy," she agreed, leaning in to take in another bite of pie. She washed it down with another swig of beer, sitting back again. In the pause that settled, she glanced around them again- picking one or two faces she recognized. Most of them, she didn't.

Rory chimed in after a minute, drawing her eyes back to him. She couldn't help but huff a soundless laugh through her nose, a tight (but genuine) smile pulling at her lips.

"Guess that works," she admitted, in a rare move letting herself follow someone else's lead. Then eyed him a little pointedly. "As long as you don't drag me around on some 'introduction' circuit." She didn't think he would, but that base had to be covered. "I'm not a particularly social creature."

He shook his head. "I'll just introduce you to anybody that happens to walk by." He smiled. "Or, if you point someone out, I can probably tell you who they are."

Claire nodded, taking another bite of pie. It was awesome, actually- just the right amount of sweet and tart, with a light flaky crust. Didn't even need whipped cream, but the dollop on top was awesome, too.

"That, I can handle."

He took a long drink of his beer and nodded. "So, anybody you want to know about?"

Claire sighed audibly, her eyes darting to and from the people around them with an aimless anxiety that was nearly obvious. She was already still overwhelmed about this place. Asking such a broad question didn't help.

"Might be easier for you to take the lead on that one," she said, a little quieter, looking back at him over her beer.

"Here's one to wrap your head around." He chuckled, then pointed to the groom. "You see him?" He then pointed over to Mary Ellen who was sitting down with the babies, and indicated the blonde boy chasing the bubbles. "And him?"

Claire's eyes tracked where he was pointing, at least recognizing the groom and Mary Ellen from the family dinner. The night she ended up with Dean at the bar.

"Mhm?"

Rory smirked. "They're the same person." He chuckled. "And the groom's father? There's four versions of him on the island."

Claire just stared for a moment, any shred of amusement having drained a bit from her face. What was left was complicated, deadpan, and wrinkled the freckles on her nose.

"Awesome," she drolled, her voice conveying just how much she didn't want to think about what he'd just told her. She drowned that thought with the rest of her first beer in one breath.

"There are also people here who have the same face but aren't the same person." He shrugged.

Claire just barely resisted the urge to pinch the bridge of her nose between her fingers. Maybe it was better to just throw it all out there. Get it over with. Like a bandaid.

"More awesome," she sighed, taking a swig of her second beer, looking back at Rory. The pie was basically forgotten. "Noone has my face, right?"

He shook his head. "No one has your face, or mine, or Dad's. There is someone with Mary's face, though. Just showed up recently." He ran his fingers through his hair.

The relief at hearing she was the only one with her face was deflated when Rory referred to Dean as Dad. Not that she expected him to do anything different, it just...

It pricked really dissonant chords in her head.

"Is there a way to tell people apart or..." She sighed, shaking her head. "Maybe I don't wanna know."

"You can tell the Steves apart because they're not all identical and one of them is only like 6 years old or something. And Mary and Wanda look different. Their hair is different and Wanda has an accent." He nodded. "It's actually really easy to know who is who."
