Steve got up from his computer and went straight to the kitchen, getting the coffee started. He ran his fingers through his hair and then decided to change his shirt. He chose one she'd given him for father's day not long after Kytana was born. He smiled and then made sure that the living room was tidy as he waited for her to show up.

Micha had needed a few moments to meditate and release her anxiety into the Force before she made her way over to the Tower and the apartment Steve was living in. It had only been a few days for her since she'd seen him in their own time, but it had been quite a while longer for him and she wasn't sure what she'd find.

She knocked on the door and waited for him to open it. Only decades worth of practice at Jedi-like serenity kept her from fidgeting.

Steve took a deep breath and let it out slowly as he walked toward the door. It had been more than a year since the last time he'd seen this Micha. He hadn't even realized how much he'd missed her. He put a smile on his face as he opened the door.

"Hey, come on in." He stepped aside.

Micha stepped inside, and automatically gave him a peck on the cheek as she passed without thinking about it.

His smile widened just a little bit but he said nothing. Steve shut the door and followed behind her. "I honestly forgot how you take your coffee." He scratched the back of his neck.

"With cream and a pinch of sugar, thank you." It wouldn't have been fair of her to expect him to remember everything, though she wished he had.

"That's right." He nodded. "I have some scones as well. You like the orange ones, right?" He started toward the kitchen.

He chuckled softly and got a couple of small plates down from one of the cabinets as well as two mugs. "I would suggest you go and taking a seat but I know better than that." He smirked.

"I don't intend to let you out of my sight, Steven. Not for a little while anyway." She smirked in return and leaned against the wall.

"I missed you. It was only a few days, but I missed you."

"You haven't called me Steven in years." He laughed, moving to pour the coffee. "Having the younger versions of you around helped me keep from missing you too much, but I did miss you." He walked over and kissed her cheek softly.

She opened her eyes and glanced up at him. "I'm glad the two of you were able to bring some comfort to each other." Her eyes twinkled and she goosed him lightly on the rear with the Force. "However now that I am here I do not intend to share you with anyone soon."

He let out a little squeak when she goosed him, then nodded. "Didn't think you would." He cleared his throat. "But.....I should probably be.....completely honest." He sighed, stepping back just a little bit. "There was....someone else, too." He looked down, the coffee and scones now forgotten.

"Oh?" Her expression faded to a neutral mask of Jedi serenity as she waited for the rest of it. She didn't expect he'd been a monk, not if he'd been back in time for months. It wasn't something she liked hearing, mind you, but it could be dealt with.

He reached up and lightly trailed the backs if his fingers along one cheek. He knew what it meant, the change in expression. The fact that she was controlling her emotions. He sighed softly.

"I dated a young woman for a little while but we were never intimate." He cleared his throat. He didn't try to hide anything, letting her sense his feelings. "After she disappeared, I started a purely physical relationship with another young woman. We're friends but that's as far as it goes." He didn't regret the time he spent with Stacey. It had actually been a relief to be unemotional for a while.

Micha watched both his body language and his emotions intently, not out of suspicion but to be certain there were no misunderstandings. Screaming and throwing things had never been her way, and mindless jealousy was a signal of unhealthy attachment to be avoided.

"All right." She nodded. Unspoken was the assumption that the physical relationship with this young woman would be ended if he wished to share Micha's bed. As she'd said a moment before, she didn't share.

He was about to ask if there was anyone she'd been with when he remembered it had only been a few days for her. He leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips, then started to get the coffee poured.

Micha returned the kiss and returned to watching him work. "Is it strange for you? Being so far back in the past." Encountering Sunilla and her mother again, who her Kytana had been named after, had been a happy but very strange experience. She remembered both women growing old and eventually become one with the Force.

Steve nodded as he started to add milk and sugar to both coffees. "Seeing everyone alive, all the kids being so tiny." He sighed. "I try to babysit Stevie and Mouse every chance I can." Stevie was still around but Mouse was only half super soldier so old age had taken her. He cleared his throat and blinked back some unexpected tears.

"It's all right, Steve." Micha was there beside him, having sensed his distress. While most of the time she pretended for politeness sake she couldn't sense his emotions, this was her fault for bringing the subject up.

"They're here now, alive and well." She soothed. "Let them have their time in life, and mourn them when they join the force when the time comes. Not before."

He took a deep breath and quickly wiped at his eyes. "Sorry. Most of the time I'm okay but every now and then it gets me." He chuckled softly. Once the coffee was prepared, he got a couple of scones and put them on the small plates.

"How about we move this into the living room?" He offered a plate and a mug to her.

"That sounds like an excellent idea." She replied, giving him another peck on the cheek and then taking the offered plate and mug. A moment later found her settling on the sofa, seeing the view of the city through the windows.

It was a nice apartment, but not as nice as the Jedi temple or the little summer cottage they'd had by the beach. Of course the temple wouldn't arrive for another century, there weren't nearly enough Force sensitives on the island to warrant such a structure. Not yet.

Steve sat down next to her, taking a sip of his coffee before setting the plate and mug on the coffee table. He watched her for a moment. "This timeline is a little different than ours. There are people here I don't remember and others have gone that I remember seeing every day." He scratched the back of his neck.

He squeezed her hand gently. "I've been working on the farm a lot." He shrugged. "There was a switch a while back. I ended up with House's abilities, or lack there of. Had his bum leg and everything." He made a face, absently rubbing his side with his other hand.

"That must have been a big adjustment for you." She nodded. It had been centuries since he'd been unhealthy in any way she could think of, since his super soldier transformation. Even in her own universe such a transformation would be remarkable, for the technological level of his world at the time it was practically the will of the Force that it had succeeded and not killed him.

"Show me?" It was a request, not an order by any means. Theirs was a partnership of equals and she couldn't imagine a situation outside of combat where such a thing would be necessary. If he refused then she would just have to live with it, for now.

She wished she'd been here then, maybe she could have done something to help so he wouldn't have gotten injured.

Steve set his mug down and pulled his shirt off, laying it in his lap. He shifted so that he could show her the scars on his side, three scars that looked about like claw marks. "They healed very quickly after I was me again but the scars stayed."

Micha examined the scars with a critical eye, they looked vicious but they didn't seem to cause any discomfort. "How long between the time you were injured and your abilities returned?" It must have been very painful at the time.

Nor did he need to. Without the benefit of bacta treatments or Force healing she could easily imagine the severity of his injuries. She moved to pull away and then focused on the shirt he'd taken off. It hadn't registered when she'd first arrived but now the significance of the item of clothing was clear. "You still have this." Her tone was that of pleased surprise. "I thought you'd worn it out years ago."

"I'm not sure my training included lessons on 'how to maintain a proper Jedi-like facade at your daughter's wedding.'" Micha quipped back, letting one hand go to his own face while the other snaked around his waist.

Steve chuckled and moved a little closer to her. He was pretty sure his pulse sped up just a bit as her arm went around him. She seemed to have that effect on him.

"You did at that." She agreed, resting her head on his shoulder for a moment. That day had been an exhausting 24 hour span of time. "If the wedding and reception didn't wear me out, you certainly did afterwards! Bringing me breakfast in bed was a lovely discovery to wake up to." There were benefits to having a man that didn't need as much sleep as you did.

"The wedding was pretty exhausting." He laughed. "You seemed to get your second wind, though. And after that night, breakfast in bed was the least I could do." He smirked. Just remembering it was having a bit of an effect on him, though not too much. "She called me while I was making breakfast. I asked her why she wasn't in bed with her husband and apparently she'd woken up at a ridiculous hour and couldn't get back to sleep. He, on the other hand, was out like a light so she decided to call." He shrugged.
