She didn't care if he was dirty or his beard was scratchy or about anything else. Because, even though she knew it wasn't true, it'd felt a little bit like she'd lost both of her parents and her boyfriend in all of this. She didn't blame them, especially since she knew Stevie was helping, but she missed them either way.
Her arms were tight around Stevie, fer face tucked in to his neck as she forced away the tears stinging the back of her eyes. He hadn't really gone anywhere, there was no reason for her to be this emotional. But she was overwhelmingly glad to see him again, and to know he'd kept her dad as safe as possible. She didn't say anything either, just held on to him, her fingers tight in his shirt, doing her best not to crumble just yet. She still needed to make sure her dad calmed down.
