The Doctor watched Jake's body fall and hit the ground. He winced in sympathy but he knew the other alien wouldn't be that harmed.
"Master, you are hurt."
"Yes, K9." The Doctor gingerly rose to his feet, his right leg immediately buckling underneath him. It took all his concentration and focus to separate the pain from each point in his body and push it as far back as he could, allowing him to stand and move. "I hope he doesn't wake up with too much of a headache." He sighed as he looked at Jake. "Sorry, Jakey boy. I promise I'll get this all sorted and stopped. At least I have some kind of idea now."
The Doctor turned to K9. "Stay with him until he starts to wake up. Make sure nothing hurts him, ok?"
"Affirmative. What about Master?"
"Oh, Master will fine, don't worry about me. Just be a good dog and guard Jake until he wakes up."
