He could hear that funny noise again, over the sound of the voices. The whirring trundly sound that reminded him of helping the girl. He'd forgotten her name now, the voices making it hard to think or concentrate on anything. He could react, though, and quickly. There were quite a few less animals running round in the forest now, thanks to his reactions and his knife - he'd had enough wit left to know to leave his bow and arrows in the place where the dragon slept, but he'd kept his knife - and, more recently, thanks to his bare hands. He didn't remember those moments, but he'd found the bodies afterwards, licked the blood from his hands and known it was his doing. Eywa would not be pleased, he'd thought after the first few times, but the voices drowned out those thoughts soon enough.
But he knew the noise, somehow, so he took to the trees and made his way towards them.
It was getting closer, as was a scent that yet again, he knew but couldn't think enough to place it. He stayed still up in a tree, stretched out along a branch, and watched as a sky person walked by underneath him. The noise came from a metal creature that followed after the tawtute. He knew them, he knew them both, but he couldn't think how. Just like he knew that tawtute wasn't correct for the man but didn't know why...
As they moved on, walking towards the place he was staying in for the moment, they vanished into the fog again and he panicked. Were they looking for him? Why were they going towards his place? Of course they were, why else would they be out here? The voices whispered in his ear as the fog wrapped itself around him, pointing out how everyone else on the island wanted to take him away. They called him names and swore at him when he tried his best to explain himself, didn't they? They wanted him off the island, they didn't want his help, they didn't want him around at all! Was the man coming to get rid of him? Of course he was! He hissed to himself, then followed after the odd pair, keeping to the trees wherever possible.
