Jake weaved his way through the branches, then dropped down to the ground, making his way through the forest by scent, sounds and listening to the fog. The sudden blue light and strange noise up ahead caught his attention, as well as making the fog react. He hissed as it grabbed at him, tugging at his ears and tail before slapping him hard on the back and causing yet more welts to show up on his skin. It also wound up pushing him towards the blue light. It was new and he wanted to know what it was, so he kept going.
The fog whispered to him. The blue light would hurt him, it was the Ke'tawtute trying to trick him, he needed to get rid of him and the metal thing and he'd be safe... But he knew it wouldn't hurt him. Again, he couldn't have explained how he knew this, but... he did. The strange light would not cause him harm. He moved round to the side as he got closer, and when he was about level with them, he simply closed the gap enough that he could see them through the fog and watched to see what they were doing.
