Who: Quinn and Tim
Where: Pub
What: Apparent guys' night while girls' night is going on
When: Backdated to the same time as this (so veeeery backdated >_>)
Rating: TBC
Open: Ask first, probably open to pub people
Status: Ongoing

Quinn sighed softly trying to not look as tired as he felt. He knew Cleo and TJ wanted him and Tim to get to know each other but the elemental wizard couldn't help but wish it had been in a few weeks time. He was still suffering from the worst of the after-effects of death and he wasn't sure how this was even going to go.

Quinn sighed again and let his forehead rest on the table top. God he was tired. And cold. So very cold. But at least he was firmly in the plane of the living right now. He just hoped he stayed there fully for a while, the ghostly plane of this place was... odd. There wasn't the abundance of spirits that he usually saw but there were the people here, some like Cleo ended up with certain auras around them and others, when his vision flickered to the ghostly plane, he saw them change. Like Mitchell. That's why he was glad he was just seeing the realm of the living at the moment, in the pub, waiting for Tim to arrive.

Quinn nodded slowly. "Yeah, well, the soul deep kind really." He managed a small smile of gratitude but shook his head. "I'm ok for now, we're supposed to be.. getting to know each other anyway, aren't we?"

He looked at Tim and his brow furrowed in thought. "Were me and Cleo around when you were growing up? Or is that timeline completely different to now?" he asked.

Tim nodded slowly. "If you change your mind it's no trouble. Mom keeps the makings readily on hand, since she's expecting. She gets weird cravings at weird times." He explained on a chuckle.

He shook his head. "No, but a lot of people who are here now weren't. I mean I haven't been back since I was brought back in time, so things might have changed for me too, I just won't know unless I go back."

"I'll keep that in mind, thanks," Quinn said with a small nod.

He nodded again at Tim's response. "I figured it would be something like that." He sighed softly and ran a hand through his hair. "I suppose you'll find out eventually, especially with Cleo and TJ being best friends."

"It changed for Rachel, so... It'll probably do for me too. If I go back. But... I don't really want too? I mean it's cool that things have changed, but I like how things are now." He loved TJ. And though he had a family of his own in the future he wasn't eager to start down that path.

"Well, they're... Like a pair of girls. They keep eachother's secrets." Tim chuckled softly. "So if she told him not to tell, he wouldn't. You don't have to if you don't want to, but if you need to. Need someone to listen. I don't judge." He crossed his fingers over his heart.

"Well, no, you have a life here with TJ and your family," Quinn said softly.

Quinn chuckled softly as well. "Maybe. But chances are it'll happen again." He sighed softly before taking another sip of his drink. "I'm suffering from after-effects."

"Yeah, my family is a lot bigger now than it was while I was growing up. For the longest time it was just me." Tim confessed softly.

Tim tilted his head slightly. "After-effects of what?"

"It must be nice," Quinn said softly, thinking of his own family. He knew he had some half siblings from his father's second marriage but Quinn had cut off contact with his father a long time ago to protect the man and his new family. As for his mother... He had no idea if she was alive or dead and he probably would never know now.

"Death," Quinn replied.

"Yeah, it's great. I mean, Clint and my Mom hadn't even got married by the time I came back. She had the twins, and was expecting another, when I got brought here. Now I'll have the twins, and Bucky, and even little me. Which was weird at first but it's not so much anymore." Tim had always been an open book. Never one to hide anything, unless specifically asked to.

His eyebrows shot up. That wasn't entirely new. And it wasn't something he knew the feeling of. "Let me get you something else then." He glanced back at the stone fire place on the other side of the pub. "And I'll start a fire. And move a table close to it."

"Can only imagine. This whole place is on the weird side but then I've always been on the side of weird," Quinn said with a shrug.

He arched an eyebrow before giving a small shake of his head. "I'm ok right now. It's just the cold right now. Just... if I seem like I'm zoning or not listening, you might have to prod me or something. Blurred lines and everything."

"I reckon most people have. At least here it seems like no one has a real definition of normal. But that also keeps things from gettin' boring." Tim shrugged. He liked the island, but it was his home.

He nodded slightly. "We ain't gotta do this today. I mean are you able to sleep? Would that help?" He was sure that TJ and Cleo was off doing things. Or maybe doing things at Hers and Quinn's place.

"Ah, but sometimes a little bit of boring is not a bad thing," Quinn said with a small smile. He had spent his whole life effectively living within two separate communitites - the magical and the normal. When he was a kid he had never understood the need to keep them separate or keep his magical abilities secret and he had to admit, he did like the island for that. He still wasn't the most open of people but at least there wasn't a need for the lies here.

"Tim, it's alright. Honest. I've spent the last couple of days sleeping a lot and it's not the best way to reconnect with the living realm, trust me. This close after reviving... I need to feel... alive again, so talking and interacting with people helps.

"Another couple of days and Cleo will be feeding me some of her spiciest dishes to try and kick my taste back into working." He smiled at that, it was the only time he could manage those partular dishes.

"Just... if I start seeing things and ignoring you just give me a shove or something, it'll just means my vision has switched." He paused for a moment as if realising that probably didn't make sense. "Erm, what I mean is... the lines between the realms of the living and dead are blurred for me at the moment. I'm sort of in both."

Tim held up his hands in surrender, chuckling softly. "Alright, alright. I'll stop. I just didn't want ya to feel pushed into doin' this is all." He took a long drag off of his drink. "My Moms would string me up if I didn't try to be as hospitable as I could possibly be. I would have offered cookies if I had any." He teased lightly.

Rocking back in his seat Tim looked Quinn over a bit. "So mind if I ask how you died?" He was equally as curious as to how he came back. Most people who died left the island entirely, only to come back weeks or sometimes months later. Part of him was slightly envious. His real Dad had never come back.

"I don't feel pushed, honest and cookies unfortunately would be wasted on me right now. Can't taste a bloody thing," Quinn said.

He gave a small shake of his head. "I'm assuming you mean this time?" he asked.

"You've died more than once? Here or else where?" That surprised Tim a great deal. He sat up a little straighter.

"This is my..." Quinn's brow furrowed in thought. "Sixth time. First time actually dying here, although I did turn up dead."

"Oh, maybe that's why you didn't leave when you died. Most people go back where they belong when they die." He didn't want to think of what happened to the people that were born here.

"Probably because it's not a true death, I was only dead for a little over half a day," Quinn murmured. "I had to anyway, it was the only way to get that bloody git of a god out of my head. At least it was at the time. He was almost responsible for me and Clee breaking up."

"Oh. Yeah, Mom's almost broke up our family." Tim pressed his lips together. It was one time he could say he hated this place.
