Emma had been fun, for a while but the pub had been too crowded for her liking. Voices flew in her head from other people's thoughts and made her head split with pain. She missed peace and quiet, wanted a space away from people and closer to tequila. Izzy would have known where she would be. Most people assumed Sook ran to her bakery, or to her garden to tend the flowers but only Izzy knew how Sook liked the empty space of the nightclub. It was messy and dusted over a bit but it was perfectly empty, like she liked. Her own thoughts were the only ones in her head once more and she wanted it to be like that.
Sook had only knocked back a couple of beers, nursing them slowly so they were a distraction rather than an accelerant to her lack of mental barriers. Now she was alone, she could turn on some music and nurse a bottle of something stronger. It was a good thing she wasn't opening the bakery Sunday. Hangovers and dough don't mix.
Shrugging off her cardigan, Sook wandered over to the stereo system and chose some mainstream rock, something innocuous enough to blend in to the background. She picked up a bottle of something (she thought it was tequila but it tasted a little different) and a glass. Putting her feet up on the table as she sipped, Sook closed her eyes and let all her mental barriers go down, sighing in fantastic relief as her Fae side started to glow. Her skin tinged golden and her hair begged to be blonde and sunshine wheat coloured again.
Letting go was just... fantastic.
