Their last physical encounter had been in the thick jungle, but his love, Elena had been there too and it couldn't have been easy on either of them to tolerate one another's presence. After all, Rebekah killed Elena, making her a vampire, and the blond vampire believed her responsible for the loss of her brother's affection to his hybrids. Though he wanted them to get along, he knew it would take time and he was fine with that as long as they didn't kill each other.
Patting her cool hand, he led her to the stairs and the two started down the steps slowly. "How have you been doing?" He asked her, looking at her with concern in his brown eyes. "Meet anyone?"
