Darcy still didn't quite know what to think. She realized now telling him over text was probably not the way to do it since she had no way of telling what he was feeling through it. But she knew Bruce, she couldn't understand that he wouldn't like the tattoo, but something about the way he told her to come home made her fidgety in the elevator to their apartment. When she finally got there she steeled her self with one final breath, telling herself to 'pull it together, it's just Bruce' before she opened the door, dropping her keys and the little bag that held her ointment and instruction booklet on the table next to the door, calling out after a moment, "Bruce? You still here?"

	"New Year's Day." he ran a hand through his hair, trying to keep the monster at bay inside him. Hulk was threatening at his brain and being around Darcy wasn't helping. Darcy sighed, her fingertips resting against the door after he'd gone for a moment, her grip finally loosening from the robe now that she wasn't trying to keep the bruises and bite marks out of his view. Her mind wandered a bit as he walked toward the shower, she'd been hoping for her first real New Years kiss but supposed that could wait one more year if it was what he needed. She turned the water hot as she could stand and got as clean as she could before donning one of his shirts and curling up in the bed, falling asleep only moments later.
