WHO: Neytiri and Jake Sully
WHAT: She's the one in the wrong body now.
WHEN: Sunday afternoon
WHERE: Near the forest, in town
WARNINGS: TBD, likely low
STATUS: Closed, ongoing
It had been with some difficulty that Neytiri had managed to get herself down from the tree in the forest. Without her tail, and with these awkward arms and legs with their extra fingers and toes her balance was all off...not to mention the confusion caused by her new lower center-of-gravity and her lighter weight. She was balanced enough on these legs that she could make rapid progress towards town, but it was...awkward for her, and she did not walk with quite the grace she usually did.
Her hair, at least, stayed the same in color and length - although she lacked her tswin - something that had been a disturbing discovery. No wonder humans felt so disconnected from the world around them, when they were ignorant of and incapable of forming tsaheylu. How could they understand the worth of animals and nature if they could not bond with it, if they could not feel its thoughts and the beauty of its strength and nature?
As she could not now.
Neytiri was a confident young woman, but that confidence was now shaken to its very core. What kind of place was this, that could do such a thing to her, without any warning whatsoever? Perhaps Eywa's reach did not extend here, perhaps this place was ruled by something far different...and far darker. Never before now had she felt so detached from her reality, from her home, and it frightened her deeply. Not that she would admit it - expect perhaps to Jake, and even that would not come easily.
Nonetheless, she was glad to see him as she broke out of the clearing, and a smile crossed her lips that was at odds with the discomfort in her eyes. She quickened her pace as she approached him, comforted that there was still something familiar and good in this place.
"Jake, ma Jake," she cried out, clearly in distress. "What did this?!"
