Faramir had not been terribly worried at first, when the power had gone out. He had lived his entire life without electricity of any sort, and while he had enjoyed the technology that he had found since arriving here, it was a novelty and a luxury - not a necessity. Still, as reports trickled in of people and creatures that had lost their powers, he began to feel ill at ease. Losing powers was one thing - finding a vital part of yourself stripped away was quite another. And it was a thing that spoke of a vile and insidious enemy of which even he could not conceive. Sauron had been a terrible darkness, a shadow beyond all evil - but even he could not strip from the Peredhel their choice. But was that not what he had read on the network only yesterday? That the son of Elrond had been made human, against his will.
Could even Morgoth have done such a thing? Or was this an evil greater still?
He knew not, and it troubled and worried him. Still, he held to hope as he always had, and had grabbed his sword when the morning broke and had taken to the streets to discover what he could - and to patrol. He had, of course, a great deal of experience at patrolling. He had done little else in Ithilien, patrolling, and fighting when necessary. And he hoped also to speak to others who were out - others who might have more knowledge of the island than did he. He hoped that perhaps they could help him to understand what had befallen him, and to let him know how he might help better.
